Read moreMy neighborhood "Lunch Bunch" went to this diner on St. Patrick's Day and 1 member ordered corned beef and cabbage for his meal. After a few minutes after everyone was served The member made a comment that the corned beef was as "tough as leather". A number of us encouraged him to send it back and order something else. I slipped out to use the rest room and when I sat down our members were in disbelief of the scene that I missed. Apparently the owner came out and put the meal on an empty table near our group and proceeded to pick at the meat and question what was wrong with it. He then asked our member what side of the plate that he ate from and proceeded to PICK UP MEAT FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PLATE AND PUT IT IN HIS MOUTH!!!! claiming that there was nothing wrong with the the meat! Needless to say he created quite a scene and totally humiliated our friend. I'm kicking myself now that I didn't say something to the owner as I passed him on the way out. I gave the review 1 star because the service was very good. I wanted to tell her that her boss just cost him 14 future customers. As I retell this story to my friends, I see the horror in their faces and vow to not go there. I'd say that owner needs a course in friendly communication. Especially in the...
Read moreThis diner is a family favorite, especially when craving any time of day breakfast. We have never been disappointed, and service is friendly and attentive. One visit, our party of four went for lunch. The lunch menu included specials described as “mini,” but they were perfectly sized, perfectly priced portions of lunch time favorites (Reuben, open-faced and other sandwich choices.) The lunch specials included a choice of soup or salad and a small dessert. Breakfast never disappoints. Served hot and with minimum wait, the portions are generous reasonably priced, and made exactly as ordered. The breakfast specials are just a few dollars more than the regular menu price and include coffee and a small juice. If there is a wait to be seated, it is usually no more than a few minutes. Most tables are two or four seats, but easily moved to accommodate larger parties. There is also counter service. There is ample parking available including handicapped spaces. Parking in the side lot is easier, since many spots in the front are designated 15 minute parking for...
