Bern Cafe and Catering — Restaurant in Bern

So this place started out good nice little dinner.seat yourself here.i travel alot to eat at different places and I let people no my experience.so we arrive seat ourself waitress takes our order we ordered our drinks and a one trip salad bar.waited awhile for our bowls for salad bar our waitress never brought them had to ask another waitress for our bowls and she never brought us silverware ok I get it maybe she was busy and forgot.so we get our food looks good except my kids mini corn dogs were kinda burnt.my smash burger was ok taste wise.so I drank my drink and it never got filled probably cause waitress never came back to table.so I asked her for more drink and said I'd like to change it from tea to pop.on the menu it says tea or pop.she said she would have to charge me another drink price if I did that.so I'm like why do I have to pay for another drink just to change it then she say you only get one free refill here then you have to pay full price again after that at this point she is straight out rude to me .I have never ever been to a restraint were they wouldn't let me change my drink or was gonna charge me again after 2 drinks.after arguing with her I was so mad I couldn't finish my meal.i put all the food in a box and took it home and fed it to my dogs!!.soo food was not to good service was horrible it's these kind of places I...

Had an honest to goodness double burger done the old school way in a little diner in Bern, KS today. That old flat top has flavor aplenty and try as the new places might, this is the little diner/lunch place that made a burger with all the flavor I remember from the Drug Store or Bowling Alley as a kid. Bern Cafe, they only serve lunch (but do offer catering) and wow what a burger.

If you find yourself traveling Hwy 36 and want a really great burger with crispy krinkle fries or a mess of delicious onion rings like i had, get off at Sabetha and head a few miles NW to Bern KS.

Not impressed. Slow wait staff, half of orders arrived when first two were nearly done. Waitress NEVER came by for coffee refills or to ask if we needed...
