Berne Dining — Restaurant in Berne

Our first and probably last visit. We were greeted by a waitress who told us to follow her. She took off so fast we didn't know where she went. She had to come back for us. We were taken to this back room dining area where the lights weren't even turned on. We were the only ones in this back room. She gave us our menus and left without saying anything. Our waitress appeared moments later. Lights still haven't been turned on. She took our orders. When we received our order we were disappointed to say the least. I'll go out on a limb here and say that though I can't be 100% sure, the food was frozen at one point. The burgers were thick (which is fine if you like that) but they didn't appear to be 100% ground beef. More like a meatloaf if that makes any sense. The fries were soggy, too. Food is always good, comes in a timely manner. The older morning waitress is very rude. I had placed a to go order, payed with my card and she slide it to me and asks for a tip, like she always does, and I understand that's how waitresses make their money, but kindly declined, I feel that if I'm just waking in to pick up my to go order and there was no actual serving i don't have to tip, I know that sounds bad saying it that way, but regardless the sneer remark, bad attitude, and being rude towards a customer wasn't appropriate as a server, and this happens almost every time I visit with her...

The treatment of your customers says a lot. We were not locals, and Susie made us feel unwelcome. She delivered our food, came back a few minutes later to make sure everything was what we ordered, and vanished. Specifically took a different route so she didn’t have to be asked for anything. Every cup was empty and she didn’t care. Millie on the other hand was extremely hospitable, perhaps she and Susie should trade, or Susie should be in the back of the house washing dishes...what a grump. It was noticeable to even the little kids which is sad! Ruined the dining experience. Oh well,...
