Main Street Cafe — Restaurant in Bernie

This is the second time we have ordered from this restaurant. The first time we ate in and everything was good. The philly steak sandwich was great and service was very good . This time we placed a order to go. My wife's grilled chicken salad was very good and I ordered a Crispy Chicken Club, was like biting into rubber. It was a thick chicken breast which needed to be butterflied prior to breading and cooking. The breading was overcooked due to the cook time needed for the thick breast, pictures attached. I called the restaurant yesterday to speak with John, the apparent owner or the manager, left my name and number and guess what no call back, not surprised. I have literally not even been able to stay in this place long enough to get my food after asking to get it to go because the flies are absolutely ridiculous in here! 🤮 I literally had to cover my drink with a napkin to avoid them getting in it. I hope the food is good cause if not it wasn't worth wasting my time. There are literally less flies outside the establishment. From the moment we sat down we had flies all over us and our stuff. Nowhere else around here have I dealt with this. They really need to fix this problem. When my husband said something about it the waitress said "We have a health code, so we can't do anything about them", what the hell does...

The place was clean n cute. The staff friendly. Prices were a bit high for what the portions were. I had the philly cheese steak sandwich. The taste was lacking. Two tiny pieces of green pepper confetti size, one small piece of onion n one 1" strip of onion. Plenty of cheese, so so on meat amount. Lots more bun than filling. They automatically add on a 10% tip which I do not like. If I get good service we tip. It's a gratuity to be earned above their wages. Just my opinion.
