Edgewood Grill — Restaurant in Bessemer City

We had come here in April of 2020 from what maps had shown. Since I didn't remember it, I decided, "Why not try the supposed 'best breakfast in Gaston County'?"

Well... first, the customer service from our waitress could have been so much better. I liked that many people were here and had high hopes, but that went nowhere. I honestly don't like complaining, but it was interesting that we weren't even asked if we wanted any refills on our coffee, meanwhile everyone else around definitely had some refills. Our waitress hardly checked on us. We observed another young lady who was as sweet as can be (Samantha), and I actually asked her about the tea since I just wanted that because, truthfully, the coffee was basically mud water, and not in a good way. I also found myself having to ask our waitress how much longer for our food to come out because it seemed to take way too long for the food we ordered. I ended up leaving more than half my eggs and the city ham, but I definitely liked the pancakes; they were pretty good, and the norm of a grilled cheese sandwich was eatable. I will add I wasn't expecting a high-class breakfast, but what could've made things so much better would've been the attentiveness and customer service from our waitress. Do not eat here. The food is disgusting, I’m assuming it’s a family owned and ran place because while I was picking up there was a toddler no older than 4 running from the kitchen to the checkout while they are cooking. The kitchen is 5 feet from checkout with no door or wall. I don’t know what the place use to be but it is dirty as hell in the inside. It’s like they did not clean it before deciding let’s cook out of here. When I walked in I wanted to walk back out but I figured don’t judge it might be good food. And plus I felt bad because they had already made it. Should of went with my first instincts on this one. I ate 1 bite out of everything I got and wasted almost 50$ worth of food.

I ordered from them through Doordash. Once we received the order I noticed the gravy was missing from the Biscuits & Gravy meal (major part of the meal). I called them to let them know and as soon as I told the guy he immediately got an attitude with me. I quote... Guy with attitude: "DID YOU ORDER IT FROM ME?" Me: "No.. Doordash" .... Guy: " THEN I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE!!!" and hangs up! I'm sorry last I check... YOU'RE COMPANY WAS THE ONE BEING ADVERTISTED AND ORDERED FROM ON DOORDASH!!! Very unprofessional way to conduct business. This was my first time EVER ordering or even trying their food and I will say very clearly.... IT WILL BE MY LAST.
