Mohawk Coffee House — Restaurant in Bessemer

Was out in the middle of nowhere near here with my mother. Found this place on google and was surprised to find a coffee shop that does live music on Bessemer. My mother and I both have a lot of experience with coffee as we both have worked in coffee shops and we always check out new coffee shops when we discover them. My mother asked about the two types of cappuccino as we have never seen a place list two types of cappuccino and one of the employees had a real attitude and her response was a bit condescending. It really rubbed me the wrong way and I ended up just getting a black coffee. I would have really liked to give this place 5 stars as I love to support local business that support local artists. I would recommend this to locals as it is the best option in the area and they do support local artists. However, if you are from out of town and have questions, be prepared to be talked down to. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way for this. My mother probably knows more about coffee than these folks and I really didn't appreciate the way they talked down to her. Great community coffee shop! Run by a non-profit group of church members. The coffee is fantastic (Caramel Vanilla Latte highly recommended) and they are even offering a small menu of food items now. The volunteer staff is always very welcoming, and doesn't let me forget when I have a free coffee coming due to their perks program! The place is very tastefully decorated and they are always displaying new art pieces by local artists and area students! Definitely a great addition to the community! I absolutely loved this non-profit coffee shop! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and Deb was so friendly and attentive. The best part is knowing that with every cup of coffee or pastry purchased, I'm supporting a great cause in their community.
