Prairie Inn Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Bethalto

One of the great small town pubs around the area. They have great food and a good selection of beers on tap. The food is tasty and fresh and includes the usual bar fare. I do really like their outdoor seating area with a great view of the well built stage. The live music is a great addition, though I am biased, a little, being a big fan of live entertainment. The service is quick, from order taking to the table and the food is served up hot and delicious. I do enjoy this venue and will definitely be back for more. We went there for the first time today. The food was good but I thought it was overpriced and the service was terrible. My husband had to go up to the bar to get another round of drinks because the server never came back to our table to see if we wanted anything else. We also never received the glasses of water that we asked for. I asked our server some questions about a particular type of beer and she rolled her eyes at me. We had to ask a different server to bring us our check. The server got a very small tip which was reflective of her efforts. Very large crowd on weekends. Despite that, we had great fast and friendly service. The food was very good, as we remember it in the past. They have a large covered outside eating area along with their inside air-conditioned space. There is a good selection of food on their menu. We had Friday fish, cod and white fish, along with crinkle cut fries and slaw. Hush puppies were also part of the meal. Portions were large enough to have leftovers. I remember how good their burgers were from years ago. They will be on our list for next time. This was a great experience....
