Ate here a couple of days ago...and tonight. A couple of days ago I had country fried steak. Everything about eating here was good. The food, the atmosphere and the service. Tonight, on the other hand was just a bit different. Ordered water to drink( I drink coffee all day long driving a truck) and a mushroom Swiss Burger with fries. Food didn't take too long to come out and looked great. I asked the server for some mayonnaise. She informed me the Burger had garlic mayonnaise already on it. I tell her it's for my fries. She says it'll take her 30 seconds to get it. I say that's fine. The burger come with a couple of onion rings on it. I take them off to eat separately later. Meanwhile, the server takes someone's order, then enters it in to their computer, then gets drinks , and other stuff besides bringing mayonnaise to me. I start eating the burger. It's really good. Usually mushroom Swiss burgers are a fair bit messy. Not this one. Genuinely good burger. I finish the burger. I eat the onion rings. Very good onion rings. Then I sit and wait. Maybe five minutes. I push the plate away from me. All of the fries uneaten. A small amount of ketchup waiting to be joined by some mayonnaise. Another ten or more minutes. Server passes my table half a dozen times. Not a word to me since telling me "30 seconds". She returns and asks if there is anything else that I need. I hesitate. I've been pondering all the things I wanted to say. I say just a check. She produces it instantly. I put a $10 down for a $9.11 check and gather my jacket and leave. I imagine she wondered why I only tipped 89 cents. I wondered what those fries would have tasted like and why in the world I paid for them. Then I refilled my thermos in the connected convenience store and went out to go to bed...

Today, I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant, and I wanted to share my experience. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly lady who was taking orders and serving customers. She was warm and courteous, making us feel welcomed right from the start.
However, things took a disappointing turn when we observed the man in the kitchen. His demeanor and attitude were concerning. At one point, I witnessed him carelessly throwing plates of prepared food, which was not only unprofessional but also created a negative atmosphere. He shot a glare at the waitress that indicated a lack of respect for her, which was uncomfortable to see.
Additionally, there was an incident regarding a customer's order for extra gravy. When the waitress inquired if he had added the extra gravy, he responded in a very curt manner, stating, "I did; it's supposed to be 2 oz, and I put 4 oz." When she followed up to clarify which container had the extra gravy, he snapped back with, "I don't know." It was quite alarming that he, someone responsible for preparing the food, didn’t even recognize the difference between the containers.
As for my own order, I requested a meat-lover's omelet and a ham omelet to go for my wife and me. Unfortunately, when we opened the containers, we found the omelets swimming in a pool of oil, which made them less appetizing than I had hoped.
I’ve attached a photo to illustrate the issue with the excess oil in the food. Overall, while the service from the waitress was commendable, the kitchen staff's lack of professionalism and care left much...
Read moreApril 25th 2023 order placed around 9 pm. Oh boy! So here we go, I walk in the TRUCK STOP RESTAURANT reserving my expectations, first thing I see is the waitress with an ankle monitor ok fine at least she’s making a living. She was very polite and sort of pleasant. So now already I’m second guessing my choice then I see and hear the woman pictured above moaning in the back corner, is she an employee or a friend I don’t know but she’s behind a wall of chairs so maybe she’s sick or nursing a hangover. Then I ask about my food it isn’t ready yet so I wait and watch as the sketchy, suspicious looking cook prepares my food under a round-brimmed hat pulled down tight over his eyes, I wonder why? So anyway I get my food thank the waitress when I get back to my truck a whole new set of issues French fries were whiter than I am cold and freezer burnt, my wife got a southwest skillet she said the eggs were good but the “steak” was suspicious and tasted like a chop steak that wasn’t very good at all. The fried pickles more than a few of them were literally missing the pickle just fried breading. My eggs were ok but they were well done I asked for just scrambled but the “turkey sausage” just tasted like a peppery meat patty not good. Best items were the Oreo pancakes and the muffin tops. Really if I wasn’t absolutely starving I would not have ate this and if I thought a manager was on duty I might have complained but I doubt there was any type of manager on duty...
