Edit: the owner thinks I'm making up this review at least partially. What a joke. Judging by my experience im unsure how they are even in business. We wanted to try a new to us local place and figured we'd give them a go. Reviews were good so why not? Here's why not. Walk in, no one to greet/sit guests so we awkwardly stood around until I believe someone bussing tables said "pick one kf these tables" cool Waitress takes drink orders, comes back and takes gokd orders. This will be pretty much the last time we see her. Someone else brought us our food and then nothing. Serious, no hyperbole, over an hour of just sitting there...nothing. I stood up multiple times looking for her, many other guests were clearly annoyed/upset. It got to the point where we were going to walk out then I managed to flag down someone (again, nkt our waitress) to get the bill. Insane. As for the food? Flatbread was nice, burger was serviceable, no sauce on a "signature muddy burger" left it bland but whatever. The shepards pie was a disaster. I had to stop eating it to drain the 1/8 deep pool of oil from the bottom of it in fear of a western government coming to clame my shepards pie in the name of freedom. Will likely never return, and honestly pretty annoyed I paid a cent in the first place.

I've gotten very excited when I heard about this new gastro pub that opened right around the corner, and I've gotten even more excited when I checked their menu online and saw the very familiar dishes I grew up with. I just couldn't get out of my mind the Kaiserschmarren so last night we went for dinner. My husband warned me don't get too excited: " you know it's hard to come up to your mom`s amazing cooking". Well I tell you and told the owner Attila that his dishes were just as good as mom's! Not only the food was delightful but the service was great, very friendly and welcoming. So refreshing to have quality and freshly cooked food in this area that is made with pride! We had the soft pretzel with the yummy nostril cleaning spicy mustard. The baked spätzle Mac and cheese - with a hint of dill that just elevated the good old comfort food to a whole other level. Then we tried the Bratwurst over sauerkraut and the night`s special Borsos Tokany which is a tender pork ragu with peas over fries. Amazing!!!! And of course we finished with the Kaiserschmarren - an Austrian variation for crepes drenched in warm fresh blueberry sauce! Well done Attila and Staff! We will be back!

What a treat in the backwoods of Pattenburg/Asbury, NJ. Met some friends on Saturday at this spot for a drink and met the owner, Attila. Really friendly guy that made you feel like you were sitting at his home enjoying good music and fine spirits. The interior was simple but elegant. Everything was clean and taken care of. My friends had gotten there earlier and enjoyed some burgers, that they related to me as really good. I asked if they did a Sunday brunch and Attila brought me out the brunch menu. It looked real good and eclectic. I said I'll be back tomorrow with my daughter for brunch. Next day I took my daughter there at 1pm. The service was great. The food was really yummy. I had the Eggs Benedict and my daughter had the Wild Mushroom Flatbread. Delicious! Everything was the perfect temperature, texture and flavor. We shared the Napoleon Beet Salad as an appetizer and the deconstructed bread pudding (Kaiserschmarren) for dessert. Sooo good! I will be telling my friends and family about this little treasure.

I would have loved to try the food to have an Opinion, because from the reviews, it sounds like the food is very good. However, when I called to place a takeout order, they informed me that the kitchen was closed despite it being a half hour prior to when the kitchen stops serving. The reason I felt compelled to leave a review is because when I called and asked if I could place an order, I could hear the entire conversation between the gentleman that answered the phone and the server or bartender. I could hear them going back-and-forth, he was saying “if you feel like it“, and I heard her say something that sounded negative back. And they went back-and-forth for probably 30 seconds or so, and I was pretty certain the answer would be “no” once he got back to the phone. Talk about having no couth…maybe next time, mute the phone, or at the very least put your hand over the speaker part of it. It really does not compel me to want to try eating there again (whether it be takeout or dine-in). Something about hearing the decision-making process of what would’ve been in order for a single pulled-pork sandwich, put a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended). The other unfortunate thing, is that I drive by this place almost every day on my way home from work. Maybe if they took the order, they would’ve made a loyal customer out of me. Unfortunately, this is just a sign of the times, honestly. It’s often my experience that restaurants are non-accommodating in comparison to say 15 years ago, or even as recent as prior to Covid. They have this resistance/refusal when it comes to takeout orders. I’ve grown exasperated with it…and I’d like to say to all the otherwise wonderful restaurants that share this attitude; “GET OVER YOURSELVES! YOU MAKE FOOD, SO MAKE THE FOOD. STOP WHINING/EYEROLLING ABOUT “INCONVENIENT” TAKEOUT ORDERS,”. I digress, but I do think my experience stems from what I just mentioned. My experience with Muddy Waters is unfortunately NOT surprising and DEFINITELY IS...
