Exactly what we were looking for after pumpkin picking in Waterman! Local mom & pop type Diner that was very busy (great way to tell if a place is good) We got the last available table at 11:30 am on a Sunday. Kitchsche 60's style, lots of wood trim and linoleum decor. Wonderful old horseshoe countertop seating in addition to tables and booths Staff were very friendly and efficient. P Overstuffed plates of food were quickly coming out from the kitchen👍 Pancake or waffle stacks loaded with whipped cream and strawberries, burgers and fries, eggs and English muffins+++ We ordered a Corned Beef & Sauerkraut Irish Roll and a Roast Beef Roll both with fries and cup of soup of the day-Cream of Chicken w Rice. They were both flavorful, more than plenty of food, but we're surprised by their version of a roll. Big Rock Cafe is a refreshing throwback in time compared to all the other new look-alike blah decor restaurants. The owners and the help are very personable and work very hard to keep their customers happy. Try their Belgium waffle connection combo plate. Their Belgium waffles have a special unique flavor we've not found anywhere else. Their breakfast meats are top notch. Very tasty bacon, lean sausages and thick slices of ham with very tasty fresh eggs. You also can't go wrong with their very fluffy omelettes. We've been going there now over 10 years and are glad they survived the covid years. My Wife and I came up from Texas to visit family for the New Year. My Dad recommended the family come and try this place for Breakfast. Best Breakfast I have ever had no lie. First off we came in with a party of 8. The owners had no problem moving tables together. Very friendly and polite staff. The atmosphere was peaceful and felt very home like. The portions are very big and the menu prices are the best prices you will see around town. We will be back for sure.
