The best part of my experience here was the waitress. She was attentive, helpful, and friendly. She checked on us often enough that we felt like we were valued customers but wasn't intrusive and gave us our space too. My friend suggested the Cactus Potatoes so I tried them. They were similar to a homemade potato chip. I wasn't a huge fan but they were okay. They definitely needed some seasoning, like salt. I then ordered the ham dinner with broasted potatoes and a side salad. The salad was good with ranch dressing and came with pickles, which is a rare treat in a restaurant! The ham was a nice thick slice and had a smokey flavor. I would probably have to say that it was the best ham I have ever tasted. Truly amazing! The broasted potatoes turned out to be really thick steak fries, of which I am not a fan, but that's just a personal taste. I simply don't care for any style of steak fries. My friend got chicken and waffles and they looked amazing! I was told they tasted great as well. It had been a good many years since I had seen my friend and we spent a few hours visiting and catching up but the staff never made us feel like we had overstayed our welcome and they never pressured us or rushed us. They simply refilled our drinks and let us visit. That was a very nice and thoughtful gesture. The prices were reasonable, averaging about $20 per person, and the serving sizes were pretty large. The atmosphere was a classic diner style. It wasn't too busy so there was no wait to get a table. There was a large parking lot with plenty of free parking as well. I would recommend this restaurant and I would definitely recommend...
Read moreExtremely disappointed how undercooked the food was and the waitresses lack of concern. I ordered the black diamond steak and eggs. The eggs were to be over medium I specifically said “dippy not slimy”. Well I got eggs so slimy I had to send them back. So I cut into the steak which was to be medium and it was raw. I’m not just talking a little raw it was barely cooked. I would say it was cooked rare. So I cut it all up trying to find a couple pieces that I could eat and then she brought the eggs back. I didn’t send the steak back but she could see it wasn’t cooked at all just by looking at it on the plate. My friends daughter ordered a side salad and I swear to God she got a bowl of lettuce with 5 cherry tomatoes which her mom removed because she doesn’t like them. But then we noticed all the other salads came out with cheese, onions, and other veggies on it but, the poor little girls had nothing so I said something and the waitress said you have to ask for those to be added. Well that’s a lie. I’ve been there many times and they’ve never asked me that and my salad came with all the good stuff. I wouldn’t even be writing this but when I brought these things to her attention she said “I’ll let them know”. Never apologized or attempted to rectify anything. But to lie about the bowl full of lettuce I mean come on. No one asked to refill our drinks while we were there either. I’m not sure what happened to this place but I can say I won’t be returning. I came home and microwaved the steak and it wasn’t even flavorful. Ughhh...
