Food was ok.. Collards were FULL of stems... In my family very littlecstems make it into our pot also had a lot of added sugar but everyone cooks collards differently ... Yams were ok but i wouldnt call them candied because there was no carmelization of the sugar..so it was cut sweet potatoes in sugar water... Thankfully they were NOT from a can... Cornbread was ok but a little harder than i like mine personally..... Meatloaf ..baked chicken and macaroni were all very good... Ordered a side cup of "chitlins"... Couldnt eat but a taste.. they still had a smell to them ... But i didnt expect perfection... Shame to throw away 6.50... Overall good experience and i would try them again during the week to taste the...

The food is FANTASTIC! Some of the staff on the other hand, not so much. I usually try to call my orders in because I LOVE the fried okra but rarely have time to sit and wait for it. If I get one of the younger ladies to take my call, my order is 100% correct, hot, and ready by the time I get there. ANYBODY else answers the phone, it's GONNA be a problem. IJS if u have 2 call your order in, make sure you get someone competent. But other than that, they ALWAYS have great tasting lunch and dinner specials. Don't quote me, but for a while there I believe they were serving breakfast too. Not sure if they still are or not. Would've given all 5 stars, but that customer service...

1st time visit today, Saturday and I'm glad I didn't listen to one of the reviews. The oxtails and ribs are yummy, slightly chewy but seasoned. I felt like I had food from a family cookout growing up. The baked beans w/meat & mac n cheese are good as well. The candied yams & greens are okay and I see why some wouldn't like them. With some salt the greens come to life and the yams are tolerable none the less, b/c I've had bad yams before.

Cost about $42 for two 1 meat/2 sides dinners.

2nd visit was a disappointment we didnt notice until being out of the city. 2 fish dinners came up to be $30+ for 1 tilapia fillet w/...
