Absolute hidden gem. The food, service, and atmosphere are off the charts. I recently discovered this spot through its up and coming Sporting Clay course, attached. After a late morning round of sporting clays with a friend, we stopped into the "clubhouse" and it was jaw-dropping. The exquisite detail and craftsmanship cant be captured in photos, although I did take a bunch of pictures (see below). The black American walnut bar we sat down at was so impressive. We ordered a couple of beers on tap and had the chop salad, which was amazing (for a guy who doesnt really love salads). We came back for dinner with our wives the next evening.
The food is curated by a dedicated chef who is striving towards a Michelin Star rating. For appetizers, we shared the shrimp sambuca, the poutine, and the onion rings with apple bourbon bbq sauce. Each felt like their own feature, especially favorite were the large fresh cut poutine fries, and the shrimp sambuca sauce - that I still think about. I had the med-rare Cowboy Ribeye with the horseradish butter. The locally-sourced farm steak was cooked to perfection and it melted in my mouth. I joked with the chef that "as good as the steak was, it was only a vehicle to get the horseradish butter into my mouth", and I meant it. I had a smoked Woodford Reserve bourbon, I think it was called the Smoke Show, came with the full smoked glass presentation and it was amazing, smooth and flavorful. The dessert was a 10-layer carrot cake with the chef's own pineapple compote-inspired glaze/drizzle. It survived the 4 of us and the toddler, and there was still a takehome box.
Overall, the service, atmosphere and food were astonishing and I cant beleive what a secret this place is because it is tucked away in the farmlands. Its our new favorite spot, but be warned that Saturday's its...
Read moreFirst visit. Shamrock is such a hidden gem for a tourist to find. Locals are lucky to have this place literally in their backyard. Love the atmosphere and the design/decor is pure rustic elegance. Dining alone, the staff was very welcoming and engaging. I began with the Shamrock Peach Trap cocktail and tried Pierrogies for the first time. Oh my….so good. Ate the lobster special paired with a red Burgundy. Chef Alex’s creations are equally beautiful and delicious. I’ll definitely be back on my next visit and hope to try Clay shooting. Thank you, Kristen. You’re a fabulous mixologist and host. See you next time,...
