The restaurant supports a 4.6 star rating on Google with over 1,000 reviews. That is a solid rating. It is well liked.

Good value, very good service, tasty well-seasoned food. If you are on I-35 headed north or south and near the Blackwell exit, try it. Los Potros will satisfy your Mexican food cravings. In my opinion; Los Potros is a good solid 4-star OkieMex restaurant. Recommended.

I had the Combination Meal #20. It was a delicious relleno, a beef packed taco, beans and rice. The beans were not as smooth and creamy as I like, but OK. The rice was typical. My wife had the Quesadilla Grande, one of the day’s specials. She noticed it on the white board when we walked in. It was a big flour tortilla, folded over and packed with at least a half pound of well-seasoned grilled chicken. It came with Guacamole and beans. She switched her order to refried beans instead of the charro beans. I wish I had tried the charro beans. Both meals were tasty and satisfying. An enjoyable lunch.

Spike’s “Think About it” inessential observations…. I have found that OkieMex restaurant menus are interchangeable between restaurants. In many instances identical. As an example. Recently, I have made a combo meal that consists of a relleno, taco, beans and rice, my preferred Mexican food meal. A very noticeable pattern is appearing. This grouping of food items is almost always a Number 20 on OkieMex restaurant’s combination menu. As it was today. Either many of the Mexican restaurants get their menus printed by the same printing company, or my conspiracy theory – the Mexican restaurant cartel controls far more of the restaurants in Oklahoma than I had imagined. It is not a coincidence. I think I am on to something that may turn into a special episode of 60 Minutes.

Two other items that can be found on most OkieMex menus are the Steven’s Special and the Speedy Gonzales. These meals are common Mexican restaurant menu items, like a cheese burger is to a burger joint. They are a good indicator that the place is an authentic OkieMex restaurant. Look for them on the menu. Everyone knows who Speedy Gonzales is, but who is Steven and why did he get a meal named after himself.

First let's make this clear, I'm from Texas y'all, the capital of good Mexican cuisine. So I might be a little picky or spoiled. First I will give it a thumbs up on the menu, plenty of variety and offerings. In fact so many I could not decide so I went with something simple, two enchiladas with taco. They were good but most restaurants I frequent in Dallas Texas put cheese on their enchiladas. I wasn't crazy about the enchilada sauce but not bad. The one thing though that really stuck how to me as not right, you don't get refried beans with your meal. I think that's the first time ever that I had to order on the side. The service was a little slow, I had hope they had a bar because I hate to wait for beer, but they have some huge beers and I had my share. The layout are the restaurants is different, a little cramped and it is easy to get lost in your booth causing you to be overlooked for service. I never brought me any napkins or any refills on my salsa. I will try it again see if I can get something better on the menu, try some of...

Terrible. The food had no taste at all and I did not finish mine. The server who spoke to us when we came in was very nice and said their Sangria was one of the best. He was correct. It was very good. I have never had to pay for sour cream and guacamole on a dish that it should have been served with those two items. Cost 4.00 dollars. I already knew we would not be back after that charge was added. My food was cooked to the owner request I am sure. No season at all and to get us out of the restaurant as soon as possible. They were trying to push us out while my husband was still eating! They also had people standing in a line outside to get a fresh fruit drink around a truck. Now that looked very good. I give this place a-10. Zero. Awful food. Over priced and if that was the owner who took our order shame on him. Not sure what he had done to my food but I do know it was the worst food I had ever eaten at...

Great place for some authentic Mexican cuisine. Had the three street taco combo. Three different meat with grilled onions. I wasn’t expecting grilled onions I usually get mine raw however it paired off well. I ordered beans on side everything well seasoned versus just salty and definitely will stop by if I’m passing through again! Flan had thick consistency seems used more yolk than egg white which was better imo. Service prompt and friendly. Salsa medium to mild heat but very good.
