We go in and got sitted right away. We ordered our sweet tea. The tea was okay. It wasn't good but it wasn't bad. We ordered an appetizer of pork fries that was $7.99. The picture shows the little plate we received. So not worth the price. Hubby ordered 3 rubs and filet of catfish combo for $20.99. He got 2 sides which was their salad bar and baked beans. On the salad bar he got the country soup which was very tomato based. He said the baked beans tasted like they got poured out of a can. The ribs were over seasoned. The catfish was nothing special. I ordered the 2 catfish filets for $13.99. Once again it wasn't that special. The filets were at least a good size. The tarter sauce was okay. My 2 sides was the salad bar and tater tots. On the salad bar I actually made a salad which was fine. I also got to try their cold slaw which I would say compares to walmarts. The tater tots were edible at best. If I had my kids they would have ate them and thought it was the best thing in the world, but they also think chunky cheese is great. Customer service was alright. We were sat right away. Our drinks brought quickly but then didn't have anyone stop by the table for 20 minutes. When the server got over there she told us that next time we should put our menus down. After that though she was on top of filling up drinks and food was brought out rather quickly. Overall I will not...
Read moreMy wife and I are in our seventies and have enjoyed eating at KT’s Smokehouse a few times a week for quite some time now. We’ve always liked the food and the small-town atmosphere, but what we saw this past Tuesday evening around six o’clock really bothered us.
A young family with two small kids came in and sat down not far from us. The man looked to be some sort of law enforcement or military, and they both looked worn out, probably after a long day’s work. They sat there for fifteen or twenty minutes with no one even offering them a drink. The waitress working on the west side of the building cleaned tables all around them and flat-out ignored the wife when she tried to get her attention. Two other tables right beside them were seated and served before that family was even spoken to.
When the young lady finally asked to speak with the manager, three different servers rolled their eyes and said the manager was too busy. Thankfully, Jennifer (manager)— who’s always been a sweetheart — came over and apologized, but by then the damage was done.
It sure looked like that family was being ignored on purpose, and that’s just not right. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this kind of behavior here, and after thinking it over for several days, we’ve decided we won’t be returning. It’s a shame to see a place with good food lose its good name because of...
Read moreFrom the rustic, Western-interior, to the cheerful ambience of KT's staff & happy customers, you're gonna feel that amazing vibe the second you walk in the door, and are greeted by one of KT's friendly staff! :) KT's has just about everything you're looking for if you're wanting a taste of the good old West. From beyond-succulent BBQ fare, to their signature sauces and dressings (even home-baked goodies), you'll be transported to a different place and time, and you'll feel like you've gone to BBQ heaven! They also have a decadent salad bar, with all the fixin's that'll quench your salad taste. You could just eat that alone, and be satisfied (but I highly recommend also ordering off their amazing menu, of course.) ;) I've hear that KT's caters, and I know that if I'm ever in that neck of the woods (and I have a need), I know who I'll be calling. Also, their location is off-the-beaten path (adding to their quaint ambience), so they're a perfect location if you want to host an event! Overall, I highly, highly recommend KT's Smokehouse. And if you're in Oklahoma City, Norman, (even Tulsa!) it's a destination that's well-worth...
