Country Pride — Restaurant in Bloomsbury

Nasty food and nasty service. The waitress Michele had a rude attitude. I came in with a smile and in great spirit… simply trying to order a veggie omelette with bacon 🥓 & cheddar cheese. The woman asked me “did I want white or yellow egg” and I said “yellow egg please with cheddar cheese”. She asked me if hash browns was ok & I just nodded my head. Then I told her “I’d like wheat toast with butter and strawberry jelly.” She then goes to tell me “the bread doesn’t come with it and I had to add it.” I then told her “no I don’t have to add anything… I’ve ordered this same meal several times & it says on the menu that the omelette comes with hash-browns and toast or a biscuit.” Then she goes to grab a menu and point me to the egg white omelette… I looked at her and told her “that isn’t the one I want”. (In my mind I’m like are you trying to say I can’t read? or are you trying to be funny pointing me to a white egg omelette when I know I said yellow… because clearly you having trouble understanding Michele.) She quickly turned to the page with the build your own omelette and pointed where it said veggie, meat lovers & one other omelette telling me “this is not an omelette, this is not an omelette… and this is not an omelette”. Then goes into telling me the price of each topping and repeated like 5 times “it would be cheaper for you” “it would be cheaper for you this way”. I stood my ground & said “Miss… I order this meal all the time & never had this issue until today. Plus I never said anything about a discount or anything being CHEAPER for me”. She did all that just to ring up my order as a veggie omelette add bacon 🥓 & cheddar cheese like I asked. I didn’t need nor appreciate the extra lip service. I am a woman of God and I do not conform to the wicked ways of this world. Talking about “it would be cheaper for you”… l am a truck driver and a business owner. I make great money and most likely make in 1 day what this woman makes in 2 weeks. Money is not an issue for my beautiful black ass, Glory to God!!… but I don’t brag and boast. Crap service like this is why I don’t dine in and tip anymore at these nasty truck stop diners. I don’t do subliminal shots nor disrespect.

The omelette was extremely wet and bland… my toast was sauggy and the potato scraps was undercooked. Glory to God I have a husband back home that’s an AMAZING cook & the food he prepares tastes better than anything I’ve ever had at any of these Country Pride restaurants or diners anywhere OTR, period. This is it for me… I will not be visiting any other Country Pride locations. This was one too many bad encounters with Country Pride staff members. Thumbs down 👎🏾 UNSATISFACTORY!! Had my first visit here in several years. The restaurant looked very nice walking in, however when ordering the food that all changed. The waitress kept re-visiting our table to hold conversation about absolutely nothing while we were checking out the menu...almost to the point that it was starting to become a problem to hold a conversation with the other person at my table. Finally when we placed our order, we were told that you can not order a hamburger medium -well. They only come in well done, I ask to have bacon put on my burger and was told it would be $5.00 extra, another person in my party ask for a side of gravy with their order and was told it would be $3.00 extra. After several minutes of the waitress walking around the dining room delivering orders, as she walked by our table she made the remark "all this because you want bacon". Trying to keep my cool and give this place a chance, I kept quiet and waited for my order, next our table is approached by kitchen staff telling us the burgers only come well done due to how they are made.......I had enough by this point, ask for the check for our drinks and left. Will never return to this place!! FYI the Burger King that is located inside the front door, has very nice staff and don't give you any kind of problems when placing your order...... It's also cheaper! This place sure isn't what...

Starting with the service I seated myself and lack of staff makes it difficult to take the orders in a timely fashion. Furthermore the server was kind to a fault but seemed utterly detached from the job as a whole

Let’s move on to the atmosphere The atmosphere was as you would expect for a country diner at a truck stop. However the tables were a little dirty; I would personally contribute that to lack of personnel. Overall it was underwhelming.

The food prices The food pricing was abysmal. There is nothing on the menu that would be considered a decent meal below 15 dollars. Which from my personal experience is no where near the quality of the food served. Not a place for a struggling family or a large one at that.

Finally the food quality Appearance is decent but that’s where the quality ends. Sauces were sour and bitter, chicken tastes as if prepackaged frozen, and Mac tasted boxed. Now I’m normally not a hard man to please in this regard but it tasted terrible. I would have rather gone out to my car and chewed on cardboard. If anyone is thinking on trying this restaurant stay far away from anything chicken related at the very least.
