We live nearby and have been to Daingerfield's a few times since they opened. They continue to impress! If you have not been, the setting is on a hilltop with great views of the Blue Ridge all around. The dining rooms are all beautiful, they have done a nice update of the atmosphere from the old Rowland's. Serene main room, bar is cozy, the sun room area offers a lighter and brighter dining room. If the weather is nice can have a cocktail and watch the sunset over the mountains on the side porch. Went last night (4/18) and had an amazing meal. Started with the heirloom tomato salad which was perfect, fresh (Canadian hothouse) heirloom tomatoes over ricotta spread on a freshly toasted slice of bread, with basil oil and vinegar. Perfect! My wife had the swordfish which was over a tasty risotto, I had the lamb special which was perfectly cooked, served over a bed of roasted vegetables. Portions are generous. Make sure to ask for bread service early, the Parker House roles are amazing! Great cocktails (had one zero proof, one a little higher) both well mixed. Our server Quinn was fantastic, very nice and the right amount of attentive. He helped us with menu questions and suggestions. Very professional! Prices reflect the quality and the atmosphere but a wonderful dining experience. Definitely well worth a visit when in Blowing Rock and...
Read moreWe've been several times and Dangerfield's it's consistently top-notch. It's probably not on your average heavy rotation though because it's on the high end of the price range. The menu changes a bit, but not too much, too frequently and the variety of dishes is good. It's our new fave over that other restaurant that serves game (which is also excellent btw).
The staff is excellent and watching them reminds me (in a good way) of The Bear on Hulu in 2024.
The yeast rolls are some of the best I've had though they are expensive as an appetizer. The Elk main course was perfectly cooked. The texture was firm but sliced easily and tasted a lot like a nice Rib Eye but without the marbling. The Elk was complemented by the best brussel sprouts I've ever had
The key lime pie we had last time wasn't on the menu this time, unfortunately because that...
Read moreWent on a Saturday night and really enjoyed the experience. Everyone from the valet, hosts, and support staff were friendly and welcoming. The bartender, didn't catch his name, made a perfect martini. Our server, Grayson, was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The roasted oysters and snapper special were both creative and delicious. Bonus points for the Chef omitting the bacon from the snapper special to accommodate us. Always get the yeast rolls! The wine list is approachable and well rounded, we really enjoyed the vermentino. Not that it changes the taste of the food, but gentleman please wear pants, take your hats off, and maybe even throw on a sport coat. It may not be required but his place is worthy of it. Keep up...
