Ate late lunch there today, a Wednesday afternoon. She had the smoked chicken platter with a sweet potato casserole and slaw, I had a three meat platter - ribs, brisket, pulled pork - with the sweet potato casserole and smoked beans. Add two sweet teas for an all-in cost of $33.43. This is a place where you walk up to the counter and order and they hand you a couple of styrofoam cups, then bring you out your food in paper lined plastic baskets. Self serve plastic flatware and a role of paper towels on the table or booth complete the setting. This food wasn't worth half the price. Maybe when it was fresh... You remember the taste of those Thanksgiving leftovers four days later - when you have to throw them out because of that "old" flavor. Her chicken and my pulled pork were like that. We couldn't eat the stuff. The ribs and brisket tasted better, but dried out. She didn't like the slaw - fresher but a lot of vinegar. I've had better beans out of a can. We both liked the sweet potato casserole, toast, and sweet tea. Add the dirty single unisex restroom and the fact the counter girl/food preparation lady does both without gloves, hairnet or a hand wash... You get the picture. Not recommend.

I really didn't want to leave a bad review here because I had high hopes for this place. The inside is really nice and upstairs was fun. Our bartender / server was really nice. But man the food was very disappointing at least my meal was. I ordered double brisket add pulled pork with coleslaw and french fries. French fries were good but unfortunately that was it. The double side of brisket was so dry and tasteless and I had to cover it and barbecue sauce just to eat some of it. The pulled pork wasn't any better. The coleslaw had a weird taste so I couldn't eat it. The toast was pretty good but how do you mess up toast? We ordered jalapeno cheese bites for appetizer and that was good. I didn't try my dates ribs but she liked them but she didn't care for the hash brown casserole. We did get a couple of free beers with our meals so that was cool but it doesn't make me want to go back. I did get my picture taken in the cornfield so I guess it wasn't a total loss.

What a let down. My in laws came in two years ago and said it was good. The food was so dry. The best thing we tried was the hash brown casserole had great flavor. The meat was such a let down, chicken dry, ribs fatty dry, and I’ve had better burnt ends than this dry ace brisket. I find it weird that you have to pay at the front, seat yourself at this restaurant and when you pay if ask for a tip but you’re getting your own drinks and PLASTIC silverware. It’s a huge area and looks beautiful. With some music and actually wait staff it could be poppen joint and might help staff actually earn tips. It was fairly empty and at 1:30pm on a weekend no mixed drinks. What a missed opportunity. I hope this place improves. The waitress seemed uninterested in taking our order but the cook thanked up for coming in that made a huge difference. We are going to try it one more time next year before writing off.

Disappointing. As two people who cook a lot, it was obvious the brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and ribs were all poor quality meat that was either cooked too long in the case of the chicken , or not long enough in the case of the other meat ( connective tissue in ribs and pulled pork not dissolved), and everything had been reheated in the microwave. Made it both dry and greasy, with a gamey flavor. Rubbery and tough. We couldn't eat more than two bites. Beans were good, as were the potato salad and slaw, but nothing special enough to offset the meet. Potatos in hashbrown casserole were under cooked, and there were soggy corn flakes on top. No resenting from the sauces. I can forgive the serve yourself drinks and plastic silverware, and ordering at the counter is...fine. Big open area with a stage, looks like an outdoor area, could be a fun place. We were in at 5 on Wednesday and we're the only customers there. The lady who rang up our order was bright and cheerful. We were there to scout food to cater an event, but left our food only lightly touched and decided we will cook much better ourselves. For $42 for two people, will buy a rack of ribs, a whole Boston Butt, spend the leftover money on drinks, and cook much better food at home for ourselves and friends. I grew up around Bolivar, and like to support local, but they'll have...

My only complaint is I cannot give them a higher score than a 5. I would give Boone's BBQ a 1,000 star rating if I could! Fantastic service and atmosphere! Love the walk-up counter ordering! The food came out quickly, piping hot, and it was probably some of the best barbecue pulled pork I've ever had. The fried pickles were also absolutely to die for, and I've been dreaming about them ever since. The staff was super attentive, friendly, hilariously approachable and highly knowledgeable about the food, their personal favorites and the overall favorites of the establishment. Since it was a barbecue restaurant I was expecting okay cleanliness, but wow! You could have eaten off these floors they were so clean. Even the sauce bottles on the table were clean! For a barbecue restaurant?! That's unheard of! You can tell they take a lot of pride in their establishment and what they do. Definitely looking forward to our next trip to Boone's BBQ! We LOVE local BBQ establishment, especially with an atmosphere as rich and colorful as Boone's! We cannot wait to try the brisket and ribs, and If they are anywhere near as good as the pulled pork, I know it will be the best BBQ WE'VE EVER HAD IN SWMO! Thank you Boone's BBQ for a FANTASTIC...
