Smoke-n Chow Wagon — Restaurant in Bolivar

My companion and me stopped in for a late lunch. We were entertained by a family of geese. The gentleman who waited on us told us about the geese.

He was extremely friendly and did not over stay his welcome.

My companion ordered the cheese burger. I told her great choice. They have a really great burger there. But on the small side. Perfect for someone who does not eat alot.

I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Never again. I very disappointed with it. They take a chicken breast cut into 3 or 4 sections and throw into the deep fryer. No breading or anything.

My first disappointment at that restaurant.

But over all. If you have never been there. You really need to go. Down home greeting. Great service. Great food. And the dining room is very welcoming.

They even have glass collectables for sale.

That was my 6th visit. And my first disappointment. Will I go back?

Absolutely. Try their catfish. Really good. Hopefully they revamped their tartar sauce. Last time it was not the normal sauce and tasted like dirt and had a pink hue to it. When I said something, I was informed some people like it. Some people don't.

My thought was offer both and let the people decide.

And they do offer homemade cookies for sale.

Which are almost like Grandma...

I wanted the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy and maybe another vegetable. They didn't serve mashed potatoes in the evening, they had white gravy but it tasted like floury glue, brownish like it was old. The only sides they had to go with it what is 2 or 3 different kinds of fried potatoes mainely french fries, coleslaw and baked beans out of a can that that had a lot of barbecue...

Was disappointed with the food. Ordered the fish after asking the waitress if it was catfish. She said yes, but I’m sure she thought it was so.. Expecting catfish fillets, I was brought disgusting frozen fish stick triangles. If I wanted frozen fish sticks I would buy them from Dollar General. A restaurant should serve food worth getting out of...
