If I could give negative stars I would. The place was so cute and hopeful. The waitress and the bussers were very kind however completely overworked and could not keep up. After being there for 3 cups of coffee with my party and the people in front of and behind us getting their food, I asked the buss boy if he could find out what was going on...i also said....this is not you so please know that....my son is a busser and I understand what that can be like....this horrible woman came to our table stating she was the manager and literally stared into my eyes and with an aggressive tone stated that there was an issue with their receipts and the kitchen did not get our ticket..that would have been fine had she not continued with I AM THE MANAGER AND YOU CAN COME TO ME IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE. I am not going to lie for the sake of a review...if this would have been any other day I would have made a nasty scene, I felt as if this woman had some kind of hatred for me and I have never met her. She then proceeded to take the countless mugs we had on the table that I had to go and ask for each time we needed a drink and she started to take mine. I said oh no that's mine and she growled...oh...well....it looked like trash....how in the world does a mug of hot tea look like trash????? So the food comes out and actually not horrible I enjoyed mine and she says I will give you a discount for your time. I thought that was super cool. We finish our food the waitress apologizes a hundred times, not at all her fault and she was adorable, however that nasty manager is going to be their demise. By the way...the discount was a dollar and some change. Also not going to cover up the fact that I left a very nasty note explaining how things would have been outside of that restaurant had she talked to me like that and let the server and busser know they did a great job and i tipped over 20 percent because of this. Yes, immature but it was better than doing what I honestly wanted to which would have gotten me arrested and not able to get my point across. You do not talk to customers like that! I did NOTHING to provoke this exchange and it was so uncalled for. Disgusted and disgruntled and low and behold had a horrible stomach ache as well as the two other people that ate with me. Sad sad sad. I also read the retorts that have been made to the other negative reviews and this lady speaks for herself in what the replies were. I am saving you time...we will NEVER be back no need to say we can't...
Read moreWe ended up here because the place we intended to eat wasn't open for breakfast. What a happy accident! The building is small and nondescript from the outside, but inside colorful murals decorate the walls, along with paintings of pets. There is plenty of seating and several large tables for bigger parties. The food and service were excellent. We had a fried chicken biscuit and the breakfast burrito with the homemade chorizo sausage. Everything was delicious. The burrito had a great flavor and was served with two kinds of sauces, a green avocado sauce and a ranchero sauce. The biscuit was flaky and buttery and the fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They also have an extensive cocktail menu with everything from a Bloody Mary to an espresso martini. When we told our server how much we enjoyed everything, she asked if it was our first time there. Since it was, we were treated to a helping of bread pudding. I believe the server said it made from the same type of delicious biscuit that came with the fried chicken; it was also dotted with chocolate chips and sprinkled with powdered sugar and just as delicious as the rest of our food! This place is definitely worth a trip to...
Read moreI went back in September when it was storming pretty bad outside. It was the first time we had been there. The menu wasn't very clear. I had ordered a chicken and biscuit and a side of hash browns. After the waitress rung us in, she politely let me know that my meal came with the hash browns even though it wasn't mentioned anywhere. The food was decent, nothing special.
There was a young kid that was running back and forth between the kitchen and an employee only room. He was wearing gloves and I wonder if he changed them each time he returned to the kitchen or what he was doing in the kitchen.
The owner came around and checked on everyone which was nice. She did however sit across the from one table and talked to them for a while. I noticed she was playing with her ankle socks for a while. I am guessing it was something she didn't know she was doing, but was kind of gross.
I will probably try it again sometime, but it won't be my...
