The food is great, if you can get it. SERVICE is the biggest issue. You can have a great product, but without service there is nothing. The younger waitress does not seem to want to do the basics of her job. We have a larger family of 7, so we understand it can be a bit overwhelming. This is no excuse for a lack of service or empathy. She did not bring out one of the meals, since the other meals came out in stages we thought we were just waiting on it. Then when we saw that other tables were now being served, it seemed as though it was forgot. But, since she hadn’t come back to the table to check on us, I had to track her down to ask about the missing meal. She went over the ticket after she asked me which # table we were at. Admitted it was forgot and headed in to put the order in. Now a pancake and hash browns shouldn’t take long to make. After about ten minutes she came out and said the order would be in a to go box so that we could get going and they wouldn’t charge for that meal. Really? We came in to sit down and have a nice breakfast as a family. At the 15 minute mark of waiting for the reordered pancake and hash browns and not receiving them in the to go box, we had enough and decided to leave. While my wife was paying she pointed out to the older waitress that we were overcharged for 2 of the kids omelets, she agreed that we were over charged and did not correct the bill. At this point we were walking out and the young one said “have a nice day”. Completely clueless that we never received the pancake and hash browns. My coffee cup sat empty too, was told they would get me more but never returned with any. I’m not saying we won’t be back, but we will have to hear a lot of positive feedback through the grapevine before we return. It’s such a shame, because the food is great, but the...
Read moreWe saw this cute little place on a local tv morning show and thought we should give it a try, so thankful we did. The parking is limited but there is parking along the alley and street beside the restaurant. I bet based on the service they have a lot of repeat customers. There was a lady that was sitting near us who said she is from out of state but always comes here if she is anywhere in the area. This unique little family style restaurant had really good food that appeared to be fresh and made right there. We had seen them showing their homemade pot pies on the morning show, so we wanted to try them. Today, they offered turkey or beef. We tried the turkey, and it was a very large serving, and it came with a piece of white bread and a cup of soup. The soup today was reuben soup, which was very good and different than any I have had before. We also had a reuben and fries and a cheese, bacon, and chicken sandwich. Everything we had was tasty, hot, and fresh. They serve breakfast all day, so we may have to go back and try something...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about this place. First off, it was our first time going here and it has become my newest obsession of food, i ordered my usual favorites, things i judge the harshest on. I ordered the cinnamon french toast(mind blown) by far the best i have ever had. Also ordered the biscuits and gravy also in the top 3 for best at a smaller diner, i always get my eggs scrambled and well done, usually my eggs are still runny and i have to send them back, but these were perfection, next is my bacon which i always get well done as well... thats was some of the most delicious bacon. My husband ordered the chicago style hot dog (one of his favorites) and he orders all the toppings on the side. Now my pictures werent the best because we started fixing our plates before i remembered to take a picture, so for that i apologize. The presentation of his condiments on the side was very nicely done. Our server was so nice and patient, brought our food out as soon as it came off the grill. This is my new...
