The Lazy Heifer Cafe — Restaurant in Boswell

Now granted, we did go during the eclipse, but the bait and switch we received was still unacceptable. My father took us here as we were heading home. We were a group of 5 and we all ordered a dinner meal and got two apps as a table.

Using the prices on the menu online and expecting tax and tip the meal we purchased should have cost ~$70 or so.

After ringing up at the counter however the price somehow DOUBLED to $143. Costing nearly $30 a plate of food, that at least retrospectively, wasn't even the best.

That isn't even to mention how bad the service was but I do understand being short staffed, but when every other table around us was given refills and 3 of us had empty cups and placed them at the edge of the table, I don't think we need to be any more obvious.

In the end, I can't recommend you go here, but a lot of this could just be bad circumstances. Understanding that this was a good opportunity to make some money from tourism, you should at least disclose the price you will...

Stopped by on a Sunday motorcycle ride at lunch time. Restaurant was completely full…no where to sit. Stood at the counter and in a few minutes a table opened up. Seated myself and the waitress stopped by and took my drink order. It arrived promptly. Decided to do the buffet and they were out of a few things. While I was perusing the selection the owner came over and asked me what I would like to have that was already emptied from the buffet. I told her some mashed potatoes and todays meat. She went back to the kitchen and had the cook whip up another batch of both items and brought them to me. Can’t beat service like that. After a very long day I wanted some dinner so I stopped in there was only 4 others there so I figured fast service well iwas wrong several local people came in and were waited on before I was . I waited 20 minutes for a glass of tea. 15 minutes later Finally took my order. Very simple double cheese burger and onion rings but 20 minutes later came out patties were less than a 1/8 inch thick over cooked and way smaller than the bun. But hungry I ate never asked anything but waitress talked to and took care of the locals. Went to pay and was charged 18.00 dollars but what can you do small town.
