The wife and I decided to drive 45 minutes to eat here on Monday, June 29th for our very first dinner out since before COVID-19 struck. They had the patio open, called ahead to verify; which we felt safer eating outside anyhow. We arrived and notice two picnic table open. Another young couple arrived just ahead of us. They proceeded to tell the waitress that they were expecting a party of 8. Oh, so this is interesting. Here's just two of them here now. How will they handle this, I wonder? The waitress says, "Oh, well you can have both of these tables!" Oh, really? Their party hasn't shown up yet? Who knows how long until they do? Something else could open up by the time the others arrive. We're here to eat now and you're going to make us wait? Hell NO, THAT'S RUDE! And would you think the young couple would speak up? Absolutely not, they split up and sat at each table. Again, RUDE, selfish and entitled! (Kind of the moniker of that generation) Sorry but you completely failed. The rudest waiting staff I've experienced in a long time and when you rely on tips, you shouldn't be rude. And knowing about the restaurant business, it's about turning over tables, especially when table space is limited. (But, I guess they were going for the large ticket sale and big tip at our expense. Way to go! Good for you guys!) We used to enjoy eating here often, but not anymore. You've lost us...
Read moreArrived to a busy restaurant about 2:15 on a Sunday afternoon with about 15-16 riders…we had called days in advance about our visit.
After about a 10 minute wait, waitress came around for drink orders, which took another 10 minutes. When a few in the party suggest that their drinks were not as ordered, she was immediately defensive and wanted to argue. She eventually came back with a different variation of the ordered drinks and left…and maybe literally, as we did not see her again (she either was ending her shift, moved to a different part of the restaurant or walked out). Her attitude and service would have gotten her 0-1 stars.
After what seemed to be close to 25-30 minutes, a DIFFERENT waitress finally came to our tables and was apologetical for the previous person, took all orders, got drink refills, was pleasant, and was hustling! This blonde haired lady knew what it was about and got it done…and she gets 5 stars (this the overall 3).
While we were there for nearly an hour before food was finally served (due to waitress #1, who I hope quit or got fired) the overall experience was good. Food was delicious and it’s what you might expect from a small area diner with a bar and...
Read moreHave stopped here on off over the years and 3-4 times more recently. While the food is good, I like the Blackened Chicken (more healthy for my health issues I've developed), plus the sides are good. My only complaints are: they charge for the VERY small packets of sour cream for a baked potato. If you get the sour cream INSTEAD OF butter, don't think they should! (takes about 3 packets to even give the potato a halfway decent amount, be nice to have it in a cup, 50 cents per packet, feel like bringing my own). Most recent trip, ordered green beans instead of due to the added cost of sour cream, the green beans were in a VERY small little ceramic cup! Salad had the tiniest tomato I've ever seen, ONLY ONE too! No croutons, nothing special on this salad, I know a month ago, the salad had much more to it! The blackened chicken on this latest visit looked like ONE pc. cut INTO 2, it was also VERY small! When you order a COMPLETE meal and leave hungry, something is wrong! While after first being served the waitresses are attentive, seems like about the time you need a refill, they...
