I had my wedding reception at Cyprian Keyes in September 2022; overall I’d rate the venue at 3.5/5 stars. I purchased the platinum package ($135 per person which included alcohol). We paid approximately 20k for 100 guests (6 hours and 30 min total event time). The positive aspect was that the staff was very nice. They were able to decorate the venue with the decor I provided exactly how I envisioned it. The food was good during the cocktail hour. The meal served (fillet mignon was salmon) during dinner was okay (not as good as the tasting). The negative aspect was certain issues with communication with the event manager, Deborah. Among others, one included timing of the reception. Before signing the contract we were told that we could extend the reception for however long we wanted; as long as we paid extra $500 per hour fee; a deal that worked well for us. After singing and submitting the deposit that changed and we could only extend the event for one hour. We were also told that the venue would be able to get the variety of beers we wanted; a week before the event Deborah told us that none of the beers we chose were available to us. The venue also does not allow shots, which was not communicated before we signed the contact and submitted our deposit. At signing we were told verbally by Deborah that we could have shots at our wedding, which is a big part of the Polish tradition. Lesson learned; get it all in writing before you sign anything. Don’t trust her based on her verbal promises or she will not follow through. Big mistake on our part. Another issue was that the bartenders were rude to my guests during the wedding. Even when I spoke to them (as the bride) they did not have an excellent customer service toward me or my guests. I had to prompt my husband to notify the general manager. There were also other issues that were communicated to us two weeks before the wedding and by then it was too late to fix them or change the venue. Overall the wedding reception was still beautiful and I enjoyed it. I don’t think I’d book it again if I had to get married all over because I don’t think the service provided was worth 20k we paid but it’s still a good memory for me...
Read moreI am not a course snob, and I am not a very good golfer. I shoot in the mid 90s on most days and have enough bills to pay that paying close $90 at a golf course better give me a great experience.
I spent $86 on Saturday for the greens fees, cart, & range balls only to find the course in worse condition than I'd experienced in the past.
You basically pay $1 a ball at the range where your token doesn't even extract enough balls to hit 1 per club. This has to be fixed.
We were treated very kindly by the starter who thanked us for showing up early and being ready to go. He gave us the go ahead to go off early and it seemed like by the time we were hitting our second shots, the other group was already right behind us.
Tee times are not spread out nearly enough, and they allow walkers on weekends, which led to an almost 5 hour round. There was no ranger on site so the group in front us, which was a group of 4 plus what looked to be their coach was also behind another group of 4 who were walking. The foursome behind us was consistently on our tail at every tee box.
A few of the greens were in rough shape and either the grounds crew isn't keeping up the way they have in the past or the players there have a serious lack of cleaning up after themselves. Tee boxes were riddled with divots, greens had plenty of ball marks, etc.
I think if they just made people take a cart on the weekends and spaced out the tee times, some of the course condition stuff would be overlooked. We instantly had a bad taste in our mouths and it made us more aware of all of the other shortcomings, especially at $86.
Fixe the amount range balls your paying for, add an extra couple minutes in between getting groups off, and don't let people walk with their coach at 8am on a Saturday morning. DO all of that and your starter wont have to give out free rounds during the week to get...
Read moreI would like to congratulate and say thank you to the course superintendent. I play a lot of courses in New England private and muni’s and these are probably the best greens around here. Played TPC Sawgrass a couple years ago and I would even say these greens rival them if not better! I had a 6:18am tee time so obviously the course was just freshly groomed but I don’t think I even seen a pitch mark on the greens anywhere. (Some credit to members and players there who respect the course). The fairways were also in excellent shape and great to play from as were the conditions around them. The course layout is a nice change of pace from a lot of up and down tracks and is just the right amount of challenging. I believe I used every club in the bag which doesn’t happen at every course. I had conversations with multiple people who worked in the pro shop and all were very friendly despite the stress of setting up for a tournament that was happening later that morning. The only one area of improvement that I could say might be made is the bunkers. Sand was fairly packed tightly and damp but I know bunkers are tough to keep in good shape around here. Drove roughly an hour to get there and can’t wait to play...
