This is a rough one. I can respect the cook not doing it, it's not on the menu but at the same time. I bet if I asked the owner how they felt about my request and the fact that it's going to come with at least a $100 order with it.....I'm sure they would laugh and take my money.
About 6 weeks ago, my wife wanted fried bread dough like how the Nigro's Restaurant used to make. It's literally raw bread dough, cut into chunks and deep fried until it changes color, pull it from deep fryer and literally zero seasoning, drop it in a paper bag still with oil on them. It's fine. 6 weeks ago, they said, "of course. So just cut up our pizza dough and deep fry it with no seasoning at all? And you'll pay me 10 bucks for it? Duh"......then I tipped the guy 20 bucks (it may have been a 10. It was at least a 10 but almost positive a 20) that handed me the bag and made it happen.
I asked the person that answered the phone, they were nice enough to check with the cook for me. Appreciate that. But came back and said "yea he said we cant do that tonight".....I said, okay no problem, have a nice night. It's okay. That's why you're not getting a 1 star or anything. Cook shouldnt get in trouble or anything.
I'm just saying.....you are competing against alot of people who want my money. And at 7 or 8 oclock on a Sunday you couldve had a $100 plus dollar order to end your Sunday, a very happy repeat customer and a 5 star review.
Whoever was cooking......could be the owner for all I know......decided your small food business is doing well enough to not need to cut up premade dough and drop it in a fryer to earn a hundred dollar order from a regular customer. I'm sure I'll have a craving for something in the future and be back.
It's not deal breaking that you wouldnt cook something that's not on your menu.....I'm not a monster but you know I made sense. and if it's not worth making the bread dough, maybe it's not worth my phone call.
Not mad. feel free to tell me I'm a jerk and the cook did the right thing. I can accept it.
I will say that the food here is above average for a local pizza small business joint and everyone is always very nice and even with telling me no, I accepted it. I just know business, service and the industry. Put the bread in...
Read moreLet me start off by saying their food is delicious and their staff very nice. However, I am giving a low rating because of their partnership with GrubHub. That company is horrible. GrubHub added over $6 in delivery and service fees, which I was willing to pay since it was an occasional treat, plus my usual (20%) tip, only to have the driver refuse to bring the order into our building because the suite wasn't in his instructions. I entered it on the order and it was on my email receipt, but not his. His supervisor said that was not their problem, and he can't help it. This may sound trivial, but when spending that much extra for delivery, it needs to be delivered. Unfortunately, this cost Veltres a loyal customer, and I will never...
Read moreI always order pizza from this location and usually pick up but one day I asked for 2 LARGE pizzas with toppings to be delivered to my child’s daycare which is literally not even a mile down the street and the delivery guy told the one of the office women that I didn’t tip so the office called me that day of my child’s birthday, since they use them all the time to call them back and tip the man as if it obligated. Literally tried to shame me for not tipping and just a few days ago I tried calling to order for pick up and my number has been blocked. They couldn’t care less about their customers. Very poor and unprofessional service, the pizzas were descent but I’ll spend my money elsewhere. Just lost a...
