We had a disappointing experience for my daughterās birthday tonight. We were excited to try a new place, so we ordered the crab cake dinner and the filet mignon dinner to share. The salads came out quickly and were delicious, but after that, we waited and waited for our main course. When the meals finally arrived, my filet mignon was stone cold. The baked potato seemed like it had been sitting around for hours, the broccoli was cold, and the steak was one of the toughest filets Iāve ever had. I shared my steak with my daughter, and she offered me a bite of her crab cake. Unfortunately, the crab cake had a sour, spoiled taste due to the sauce on top.
When the waitress checked in, I explained the situation, mentioning that my food was cold and that we didnāt like the crab cakes because of the unpleasant sauce. She apologized and offered to bring something else. She also mentioned that sheād remove the charge for the crab cakes from the bill. We decided to try the bourbon shrimp appetizer, which arrived quickly and was hot and delicious.
After such a disappointing meal, I asked to speak with the manager. When he arrived, he stood far away from our table, and I started by complimenting the things that were good, but also shared my concerns. He immediately interrupted and asked if weād given the staff a chance to bring out new hot sides. I tried to explain, but he continued to speak over me in a defensive tone. When I mentioned the crab cakes, he became very defensive, insisting that the sauce was made fresh every night and that there was nothing wrong with it. I tried explaining that it tasted sour, but he cut me off and said he wouldnāt take the charge off my bill since I had already eaten one of the crab cakes. I clarified that the other crab cake was on my daughterās plate and had already been taken away by the waitress, but he only saw the one on my plate.
His attitude was arrogant, rude, and dismissive of our concerns. In the end, they took the crab cakes off the bill but added the bourbon shrimp to our check. There was no apology, and I felt like I was dealing with someone who didnāt care at all about our experience.
As someone who has worked in the food industry for many years, including in management, Iāve never written a bad review beforeāonly good ones. I understand that mistakes happen, but I believe your establishment should know that the managerās behavior was unprofessional and unhelpful. He either needs retraining or should consider a different career. It was a very disappointing way to spend my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere are several things to say about this experience, so Iāll start with the biggest offense firstāthe server added money to his tip. My credit card statement shows the meal was charged correctly, but the tip was charged for more than I authorized. This server didnāt seem particularly attentive throughout the meal, so Iām going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was equally negligent in typing in the details of my check. Maybe it was just a mistake.
The meal itself wasā¦weird. I intended to go out for a big dinnerāsteaks, drinks, dessertsābut after two hours I left having had only appetizers and two glasses of wine. It just took so long to get served at every point in the meal. Ordering a drink, then getting a drink, then ordering an appetizerā¦there was a solid ten minutes between each point in the ordering process. Our server kept āgiving us timeā long after we had decided on what to order. After an hour I had eaten an appetizer and had one glass of wine. As the server took the plates away I reminded him that we had not ordered dinner yet. He said, āOh, did you want to order dinner? Iāll give you some timeā¦ā It was bizarre. At that point I just ordered a second appetizer. I was afraid of how long an entree might take.
The food was fine. Not great, but not bad. But then again I didnāt eat much so it may not be fair to say. From what I could tell, the food was not worth the price. The impression I got was this place is giving the appearance of an upscale restaurant without providing the quality of upscale dining.
I will say everyone working there was nice. I didnāt have the problems with rude staff members that the customers in other reviews had. And I did leave having spent about half of what I intended, which turned out great since I ended up going to a fast food drive-thru on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur cruise was cancelled for the fourth time so to cheer ourselves up my other half and I decided to try this new restaurant nearby. We were pleasantly surprised by the new modern decor, soft music in the background and the full parking lot on a Tuesday evening. Fortunately there was not a wait and we were seated at a corner table where we could observe the comings and goings. The staff performed as a well-oiled machine - a true team spirit and everyone smiling and attentive. The menu, from cocktails to entrees is original and quite different from the usual area offerings. We started with two cocktails, one of which had to be sent back due to flat soda. A replacement was brought quickly and with a smile by the bartender herself. We then shared a beautiful beet salad, which was perfect for two to share, then onto our main courses. My partner had the prime rib special of the evening accompanied by wonderful scalloped potatoes and carrots. Unfortunately, the the rib was a little too rare but was returned quickly and cooked ājust rightā. I had selected the starter of Steak Martini! Yes, it was served in a large size martini glass and comprised of tenderloin tips on skewers over truffled mash potatoes, Gorgonzola cheese and a Malbec Demi-glaze! Wow! What a wonderful mingling of flavors it was! We checked out the dessert menu and once again unusual, offerings among familiar ones. We did not taste any this visit, but will be sure to next time. They have specials throughout the week, with Martini Mondays, Tuesdays Prime Rib, Winedown Wednesdays and Thursdays, Light Bites in the lounge. Happy Hour 4-6 weekdays, I believe. Quality offerings prepared exquisitely! Price point is on par with fine dining places in the area. We will...
