Mac's BBQ & Catering — Restaurant in Brady

Today was not a good day to eat at Mac’s & no one seemed to care. We eat here every time we are traveling between San Antonio & home on Sunday, we really like the turkey & dressing which is the Sunday special. Today it was a huge disappointment! When we ordered we were told that it would be a 30 minute wait on the dressing so at the suggestion of the waitress we substituted mashed potatoes, turns out it already comes with mashed potatoes so we ended up with double mash, something neither of us usually eat much of. When our food came out there was no gravy so we had to ask for that. The green beans had no flavor, like they were straight out of a can and the only flavor the gravy had was salt & I mean a lot of salt. We also didn’t get any cranberry sauce but since the waitress rarely came around we didn’t get a chance to ask for some. The ice tea had very little ice & the one time it was refilled she didn’t add any ice so it ended up with no ice at all. When I was checking out I tried to tell the cashier about our experience but she didn’t seem to really care as she didn’t really acknowledge anything I was saying. If this had been the first time I had eaten here I would never come back. As for now, the next time my husband asks if I want to change our route home & go to Mac’s my answer will be no. We will just take our usual route home which takes us through Junction where we will eat at...

Hubs and I had ordered take out from here before but decided to dine in that evening. Absolutely horrible. Waitress probably in her 40s or 50s, took our order… came out with our food and check. Never came to check on us, if she had we would have told her my husband’s order was wrong. She checked on everyone around us. We just watched her. She even brought the check out w/ our food so she didn’t have to deal w/ us. She was very rude and never even apologized but tried to blame another worker. If you’re a person of color , with a person of color or have mixed kids/ adopted, do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. You will not be treated like a human being but an animal. Don’t spend your hard earn money here just to be treated like this … absolutely disgusting! Well butter my biscuits and call me STUFFED, if it wasn't the kindest soul on earth that served us up some grub at MACs! My hubby and I were draggin' after a ten-hour haul from El Paso, and we needed some stick-to-your-ribs food real bad.

We got the ribs, brisket, turkey, and smoked chicken, and lemme tell ya, every bite was like a hug from your grandma. But as good as the food was, it was Tonya who made our day. That sweet southern drawl of hers could charm the boots off a cowboy, and she was just as passionate about that food as we were about eatin' it. She's a genuine treasure, and her kindness made that long trip feel a whole lot shorter. It's a rare thing to find service that good nowadays, and we'll be dreamin' of her sweet kind soul, and those ribs all the way...
