Call and make sure Christine is working on the weekends before going. Not worth going if she isn’t there. For years, we’ve witnessed her do everything there and you’d think the owner could find someone who can equally keep up with her. Her line takes a little longer now because the owner has her, ONLY, ordering food, as well a bartending, but, she gave the task to the right person! Even though it doesn’t seem right!! We always ask her to keep her tip from us and not share. Can’t call it team work if she’s doing double the work! Well, we honestly think it’s triple! The food takes forever, to no fault of Christine’s. I think the cook needs help but I’m afraid to recommend it that because they’ll put Christine back there too. Burgers are very good but you will wait a hour for one, at least, on the weekends. The security doesn’t take situations very seriously when Mitch is working. If you have an issue, find Tim or James. They actually listen when there is an issue and do not make people feel inferior or dumb for having a viable concern and will investigate every time. It’s a beautiful bar. Weekdays are slow, weekends are insanely busy. Same on weekdays, Christine is the only one who comes out and cleans tables and stays busy, while still making the customers a priority. Most of the time, you have to wait on a drink for a good while even when the bar isn’t that busy, unless she is there. We stopped going on Thursdays because she stopped working those nights but we understand she cannot work every, single night. Sundays are pretty chill and we really like Siggy. She isn’t a high volume bartender, but she’s welcoming and makes you feel like a priority. Overall, you will enjoy your time at the shop. As a regular patron, these are just a few recommendations to help your experience be better. Don’t get into the politics of it, it’ll drive you crazy. You would definitely want to see good employees move up and be recognized instead of just placed with more work. You also would want to make sure that you are taken seriously when you have a security issue. Too many people not to feel safe and heard! Luckily, Tim and James do...
Read moreThis is a really cool and interesting bar! I learned that the owners who do fabrication, frequently had friends and workers hang out after work having a beer. They decided, why don't we just open up a bar? The room is very large with pool tables and a good side stage for the band. Speaking of music, they need to make some adjustments to their PA system. The sound guy is up on the second level, mixing sound for the bands. The speakers are up above people's heads, pointing toward the sound guy. On the floor, patrons are hearing mostly bass and not hearing guitars and other instruments that are coming through the speakers up high. Once they work that out, the sound will be even better!
As far as finding the place, you have to just trust Google Maps to navigate to it, because it's not on the main drag...
Read moreCool place to watch football 😎.
Update (12/11/19) originally I had written this was a cool place to watch football. It actually sucks for watching football. The Shop does not have the DirectTV Sunday Package. In fact, everywhere in Brandenburg sucks for watching football because no establishment in Brandenburg has the Sunday Package.
I will say The Shop is a cool place to watch live music.
I am so glad though that I live in Louisville. Won't be caught dead on a football Sunday in BF...
