I’m going to post a honest review because I see most are good ole boys and gals posting so here goes, 3 other people and myself went to eat today at 1 pm and our waiting time was around 30 minutes to get in and me being on crutches I put them on the floor in between the tables and the tables are so close that literally there are strangers inches away at the next table so it’s a bit cluttered to start and hard for someone on crutches to navigate and of course I have a Karen sitting next to me with her family and she kicked my crutches after looking down and seeing them so I scooted them so close to me that it had to be a complete idiot to go out of your way to trip on them , so after the Karen kicked my crutches they left and I watched her walk over and tell her waitress who happened to be ours also , so the waitress who obviously knew the Karen, came to my table and asked could she go store my crutches in a closet somewhere and that I could wave her down when I needed them and of course I said you would clearly have to walk between the tables to even be near my crutches so (Katie is who she said her name was) our waitress Katie began to argue that someone could, because she clearly had to be rude to me because her friends didn’t like my crutches , so obviously I said no I need them to walk with, I’m 100% disabled and can’t get anywhere without crutches , so she walked off with a attitude and then was smiling again within minutes and it didn’t take long to figure out why, she didn’t come back to the table to check on us and I had to call her to get refills and at which time it had slowed down so no excuse , and make sure you bring cash because they don’t tell you till you pay that it’s a 4 dollar charge for using your card and I know it’s probably nothing to most the community around there because it’s all good ole boys town but for me to pay almost 100 dollars for 4 buffet meals and then be told in a world where hardly anyone carry’s cash nowadays that it’s 4 extra dollars to use a card, still scratching my head about that, so with tip and everything for four people to eat the buffet be looking to spend over a hundred dollars, and that’s just info for those wondering the prices . Now the food was hit and miss at the buffet, with some being better than others but all and all on the buffet it was decent, some things were tuff and some too salty but the majority was good, my biggest disappointment was my waitress Katie and if I didn’t get the name right it’s the dark hair female with the red hand print tattooed on her right arm, they clearly don’t have the place safe for disabled people to walk in between tables because they are so many and so close together and I had a really tuff time with my crutches and with Katie wanting to store my crutches in a closet somewhere and for me to call on her when I needed them and not to mention she didn’t come back and had to be flagged down, and then for me to tell her that I needed them by me and that they were in no ones way and then to have the dirty look and attitude from her for saying I needed them and the fact she was willing to argue with a customer about something that was never a problem until the Karen / her friend complained was absolutely ridiculous ! I will be back to see and review this place again to see if it was just Katie and her Karen friend that gave me such a unpleasant experience that I had to pay for , to see how my second visit goes and if anything changes because I do try to give everybody a chance and benefit of the doubt but Katie was out of line to act how she did over her absurd request and also I would like to point out that there were numerous other people with walkers and canes with them right beside them at their tables, why was I the only one asked to give up my only way of walking, never did I see anyone else deal with this so my question to Katie is why did you single me out and embarrass me in front of my son...
Read moreAll southern, all good, I will be back when in the area and hungry.
Traveling the area to go swimming in the springs around the area, spotted the name and thought I was finding a little spot that might have a simple breakfast. I was wrong.
I could see it was a buffet as we entered but thought we might order off the menu. When I questioned a waitress / staff person, she explained they were not a breakfast spot, but a lunch buffet that opens only a few hours each day.
We were there and decided to go for it. This felt like a holiday meal at home where everyone has brought something and it is hard to choose.
Fried catfish, shrimp, chicken, all cooked in other variations also. There were mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, fried squash, greens, field peas and the list goes on and on. There is a large salad bar, and a large assortment of desserts. (I recommend the chocolate pudding cake and then add some soft serve vanilla ice cream - good stuff)
I had not had a buffet in years and was expecting mediocre food. I was quite wrong - this was all flavorful, not overly salted, the fried foods were perfectly done, not overcooked.
Staff was friendly, atmosphere was calm and polite, facility was very clean. It almost felt like I was at a church social but without the preaching, just a very community feel, and we were welcomed. The locals know this place well, and that is always a good sign.
If you're just looking for a little something to eat, I'd pass this one by, come back when hungry and check the hours as it is a few hours a day centered around lunchtime.
I did not try everything; it would be impossible. I only had one dish on my plate I did not care for, and it was just a preference thing, I didn't spot the pickles in a cold salad. That is a risk you take at a buffet, but I ate a lot and ate everything on I put on my plate with exception of that one cold salad. I absolutely loved the fried chicken. Like grandma used to make I tell ya.
Best to plan to have a nap after. Hard to eat a reasonable amount when everything tastes so good,...
Read moreSisters has a nice country atmosphere with great food. I typically go by here on Sundays with my family after church. However, Sundays they close a little early so you need to get here kinda quick. The staff are great. Even when they are packed and the place is really hopping you still get good service. If you get here and the paved parking lot is full you can park in the grass too. Typically the buffet on Sunday is a big hit with fried shrimp, fried fish, hush puppies, chicken fried steak, corn, cooked carrots, green beans, rice, gravy, stewed tomatoes, soup, and more. They have a great salad bar. As well as a desert bar with things like cake, custard, pie and ice cream.
They also have a menu with just about any kind of southern country food you can think of.
This establishment it located east of Branford on the road that heads toward Lake City. It's on the right hand side a little ways outside of town. Look for a large wite cross in the field next to it.
Come on out and enjoy some local southern comfort and good fellowship with your family...
