I was here for a baby shower over the weekend. There were at least 100 people at the party and we took up the large covered patio. The shower started at 11:00AM but we didn't arrive until 11:20 (due to traffic/accident on the fwy). They had the space set up with 8 chairs to each table. The room itself was beautifully decorated (by the mother-to-be's family). They also had a dessert table set up (Party favor treats for us to take home). There was a server walking around passing out iced tea and water and there was fruit and cheese on platters as appetizers. Even 20 minutes in, there was only a few cubes of cheese left so I got some and a few pieces of melon and some grapes. Once we took a seat, there were pre-set menus for us; we could pick from Oaxacan Scramble, Chicken Papaya, Prime Rib Sandwich, Salmon Spinach Salad, Monte Cristo, or French Toast. Servers would come to our table to take our order. I was debating on the French Toast or the Salmon Salad, but ultimately went with the Prime Rib Sandwich (I guess cause it had fries on the side and I was craving fries! LOL). The food actually didn't take extremely long to come out. They were pretty organized and would bring all entrees of the same kind out first. (e.g. all french toast orders came out first). I'm not a total prime rib eater (I still cut around the fatty parts), but the Au Jus and the horseradish sauce were pretty good. Not a total fan on the fries, but others at our table suggested that tortillas would have been nice with their Oaxacan Scamble. For dessert they gave us Coconut Supreme Cake and White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake. The thing about this was that we could not pick which one we wanted. They were alternating who got which dessert. Lucky for us, my husband got cheesecake and I got the Coconut cake so we got to try both. I thought the coconut cake was a bit dry and too crumbly. It would just fall apart when I tried to pick it up with my fork. The cheesecake was okay (nice crust). They had the room until around 1:30PM so the time just went by really fast. Overall, great space, great service, and food choices. I thought our servers did great ensuring we got refills for our drinks and taking away out plates.

The menu has changed in the last couple of years for the worse. Good items were taken off the menu Waiters strive to deliver good service but their efforts are not adequately backed by management. Since they are often fully booked, they probably don't value an individual client, especially if you request some accommodation. Hygiene is not as I would expect. Glasses and utensils with stains of lipstick, food and water are often the case. The parking lot is not kept clean either. Cups, cabs, napkins, cigarette buts....Find it sad to see that happen in a place you would expect to be nice. Perhaps the demographics of their clientele have shift to a less desirable profile. A few months back a stray peahen landed there and stayed in the planters outside the restaurant. Customers enjoyed the sight of the ornament bird. Some handed it food and water. The management decided they did not want the bird there and chose to starve lt. Assistant manager Victor often sent a worker to scare the bird with the blower or drive her out of the planters by scaring her with threats. The owner of the restaurant did not take responsibility on the matter. He seemed to be ok with letting the bird die of starvation and made all kind of excuses for not resolving the situation. Maybe the managers are evil hearted but the owner proved to be worse.

We had Mothers Day Dinner here today. We have been coming her about 8x a year for the last 15 years. The food was good, I have no complaints about that. I received my bill and noticed a added 3% to my total. I asked the waitress what the charge was for. I was told the restaurant charges this to recoup the surcharge that credit card companies impose on the merchant. This is the first restaurant that I have seen do this, at least the ones that we eat at. I would rather have the food prices increased then see this fee on my bill, it feels like we as consumers are being taken advantage of. After all, that is the cost of doing business. I would rather give the waitress or waiter and additional 3 percent tip. My family won't be returning, just does not feel right.

Made reservations for Mother’s Day, mother is 94-years old. We checked in and waited to be seated. We found a comfortable place to sit outside. They called our name and led us inside. The hostess stopped, stating “I’m sorry. I made a mistake. Your table isn’t ready”. We found no place to sit due to the restaurant being “Over Booked” and our 94-year old mother had to stand inside against the wall. They finally called our name and led us to an outside patio table. We were seated next to the open windows where it was cold and windy. We told the rude hostess we wanted a table inside as our 94-year old mother was very cold and uncomfortable. We had to wait an additional 20-minutes, again standing against the interior walls before we could be seated. Our waitress provided menus and took our drink order. The Special “Mother’s Day” menu was 2-sided listing breakfast on one side and dinner on the other. Our party of five selected the dinner options. Our waitress brought drinks, but then disappeared for over 20-minutes. As she returned to our table, she began taking our orders. She abruptly stated, “You have to select items from the breakfast menu. We don’t start serving dinner until after 4:00pm. The time was 1:15pm. I pointed out to the waitress that the menu made no mention of time restrictions, requesting to speak with the manager. The female manager came to our table and I voiced our issues, specifically the menu time restrictions. She admitted the menu was very confusing and apologized for the poor quality of service we had received. This manager was useless, as she offered nothing for our inconvenience and their poor quality of customer service. We were forced to order off the breakfast menu. We had to request water and utensils for our party and the food was mediocre at best. This is not the type of service anyone should have to experience at a quality restaurant. Also, read the fine print, as this restaurant charges a 3% service fee for using credit cards. It would be expected a discount on our bill or a free dessert for this dissatisfied experience would be in order, but the female manager offered neither. We will not be back. Today (May 25th), I received a Yelp reply from the Business Owner stating their GM had contacted me and my family members regarding my concerns. This is a deliberate LIE, as no one from their establishment has contacted me or my family. Their Yelp response is a ploy to convince customers how much they care to provide customer satisfaction. This restaurant does not deserve...

What a pleasant evening at Cedar Creek!

I stumbled upon this place via Open Table because they were offering a bonus of 1,000 points for making a reservation. I changed my reservation twice on the day of and they were still able to accommodate my requests, probably due to it being a fairly slow night.

Cedar Creek is located right next to the Outback Steakhouse off the 57 freeway and though there's plenty of parking, there's never any space near the restaurant itself.

Our dinner round was fairly quick. Our server was very nice and table touched a few times to ask how we were doing, and the runner always made sure our waters were filled to the brim. The ambience here deserves the 5/5 rating. It's dimly lit and very romantic, making it a great place to visit for a birthday, anniversary, or just a special evening.

The fish and chips, as I've been told, are a popular choice so I had to give it a try! They offer a jalapeño tartar sauce which I surprisingly loved more than I thought I would! I asked for a regular tartar sauce as well but did not like that one all too much.

My boyfriend ordered the prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans and he enjoyed his plate as well!

The truffle Mac and cheese was a delicious treat but found it a little odd that they used penne pasta instead of macaroni shells.

As I mentioned earlier, our dinner finished very quickly. We were served our garlic bread almost immediately after receiving our drinks and by the time we ate the last piece, our entrees were already dropped off! I was very impressed by this.

Overall, I would certainly recommend this for a special evening and I plan to return to try their happy hour menu items and their...
