Went to this Applebee's with my family to celebrate my brother's graduation from college. Ordered their new spicy honey mustard chicken sandwich with no tomato or pickle and add cheese. We even had 2 waiters so this should be fine.
We get our drinks, salads; Everything tastes good and is usual. Main courses come out. Immediately notice the sandwich that is supposed to have cheese and bacon has neither and tomato was still on the sandwich.
Then spent at least 5+ minutes just trying to find our waiters to explain, "Hey, this is missing x and y." She explains they'll refire a new one and reduce the price by 50%. Fine.
Second sandwich comes out and there's no bacon. Spend another 5+ minutes trying to find and flag down our waiters to explain the sandwich is now missing bacon. She goes to the back and we hear what sounds like a curse followed by a loud crash. Almost immediately after, a plate full of bacon is brought to the table. I get the sandwich in a to-go box and decide to just eat at home. (Mind you, neither waiter refilled our drinks or even came back to the table!)
Get home, finally set down to eat. Take a bite and the sandwich isn't bad. Take a second bite and discover, to my disgust, the sandwich was cooked with the separator plastic still on the cheese. Threw away the sandwich.
TL;DR = Served our food and were basically never serviced again without having to get up and find someone to flag them down. Food came out wrong TWICE, so much so that the plastic was still on the garnish. Heard a cook yell and probably break a plate. This place was great but has gone down...
Read moreI hope my experience tonight is not the average for this establishment. As part of a larger group (24), I am willing to be lenient to a degree. However, our reservation was made weeks ahead. Our reservation was for 5pm, so slightly before evening rush. The more significant reason for this poor review was service times for food were extremely long. After waiting 45 minutes to have our orders taken (this okay, just because it was a large group), it took another 45 for 3 appetizers to arrive. Another 10-15 for our food to start arriving.
When food was being delivered, there was no recollection for where the food belonged (nor was it delivered table by table, but rather all tables at once, over a 15 minute period.
Our server was nice, and never showed any signs of frustration. She did mostly serve our party alone.
Smaller issues that are not influencing the rating- Some plates had messy rims, showing thumb prints and sauce splatters. My salmon was not very well seasoned for being "blackened Cajun" Food was served Luke warm. Sweet tea was hardly sweetened Mozzarella sticks for ordered but never arrived
Positive notes- Salmon was not dry. Mashed potatoes were fresh and good flavor. Steak was cooked to right doneness. Owner visited with my grandparents. Atmosphere was generally clean and good decor, with support for local college teams, and music playing...
Read moreI have never been to a more dysfunctional restaurant. Took 15 minutes to order and receive drinks. Ordered an app, food came an hour late, of course ice cold, as well as missing my wife’s BOWL OF SOUP and never received the appetizer. LOL. Asked how long on the food at the 55 minute mark and boom, half came out but like stated, ICE COLD. Wasn’t really that busy for a dinner rush, seemed to have the staff to handle it. Just seemed like no leadership at all. Told the manager what happened and she just said “I know” and that she comped the bill. No other ramifications to correct the issues, just an “I know” c’mon. So my family of 5 only got to eat “3 fries and an ice cold breadstick” but the kids were starving. Appreciate the waste of an hour and 20 minutes to leave hungrier than when we showed up. I would’ve been more satisfied with a steaming pile of dog crap handed to me in 20 minutes. Because it would’ve been hot and I wouldn’t have had to wait over an hour. Wild. Lastly, they forgot the high chair I asked for, another 20 and I got the stickiest, most unsafe booster seat I’ve ever seen. So we tossed that to the side, I would’ve felt safe letting Casey Anthony hold my child at the table, rather then sit her in that disease...
