We were having a surprise birthday dinner for my sister (1 of 3). And as part of our trying to get it together, we needed someone to make sure she got there (on time is a whole other story). I guess you could say we needed a scapegoat. Anyway, the best one for that job just happens to be in a wheelchair. We all got there and were waiting on her when two different times people drove up and pulled right in front by the ramps, parked, got out, and went inside. Yes, it was raining, it was also stormy, I get it, you don't want to get your hair wet, or you don't want to melt. I really do get it, I wanted to do same and park close so I wouldn't have to walk across the parking lot (in the rain). I was outside when the two individuals pulled in, and I'm judging no one, I said something out loud about people needing those spaces who were unable to get out and walk across the parking lot. I looked as best I could for handicap decals before I went inside and said something, I did not see any. When I went inside, I said something to the girl working the register, her only comment was, "there's really nothing we can do." Really? Can someone tell me why they even have those? When my sister and her friend pulled in, they had to park way around on the side. She is not very big at all, 5'4" and maybe 115 pounds soaking wet. She was struggling with his wheelchair, my husband didn't see them pull in or he would have helped her. I noticed they were there after she had him almost to the ramp to come inside. Folks, please, if you really don't need those handicapped parking spaces, save them for others that do; and businesses, please try to enforce the reason those spaces are for your customers who need them. I know you really should not have to do that, as it should be the driver's showing some sort of respect and courtesy for those who really need those spaces. Thanks. (It all goes back to...

Long Post! (Thereās no way to shorten it! Sorry! š)
I hate to do this, but I have a huge problem with a restaurant in Bibb County that I really like - Juanes on Highway 5. I love the food, but after today, I WILL NOT be back! My niece and I went there for lunch after the Homecoming parade today. We had my dog with us. They have a patio with a bunch of tables, and weāve taken her there before. No one has ever had any problems with her being there until today. I left Luna outside on the patio with Emma and walked inside to let them know there were 2 of us and a dog there for lunch. I was told very quickly that she wasnāt allowed to be there. I told him that she was on the patio and wasnāt coming inside. He said it didnāt matter because she couldnāt be there unless she was a service dog. I told him she wasnāt because Iām not going to lie just to be able to sit outside with my dog. Sheās a registered emotional support animal, but I doubt telling him that would have done any good either. I did tell him that Iād been there with her before, more than once, and he said he didnāt know how or why I was able to do that. I didnāt say anything else, and I walked out the door and told Emma we were leaving. Like I said at the beginning, I love the food there, but they lost a customer today. I know that really doesnāt mean much because Iām just one person, but Iām not going anywhere that she isnāt welcome. She goes almost everywhere with me, and I always look for dog-friendly restaurants to go to. Apparently Juanes isnāt one of those anymore. If anyone knows of restaurants in Bibb County that will actually let you bring your dog, please let me know! We usually go to Tuscaloosa, but it would be nice to find somewhere close to home to be able to go with her.
Love the food here! Service is great too! And you can sit outside on the patio with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have tried this restaurant a few times. One year, 2017, I brought my Mother for dinner there. I am a Vegetarian and, of course, ordered a Vegetarian meal. I was telling my Mom how great the food was there until... I got my food and it had chicken in it. I even gave a piece to my husband to double check before I said anything. Okay, no problem. I'll just have them make me an actual Vegetarian plate. The wait staff came back to my table after I mentioned the problem and told my family and I that it was not chicken! All I wanted was NO meat on my food, not for the cook to try to make it appear as if I were lying. I was so mad I left the restaurant and waited in the vehicle for my family. I have tried on 2 occasions in the past month to get a vegetarian Chili relenos and each time I get home with my take out... there is beef in it, which I cannot eat. The first time I tried to call and drive back to have them change it, they were closed. The second time, I put dinner up till the football game was over to come home and find, yet again, beef in my vegetarian meal. I am done trying to eat here just to waste my money by getting food that...
