🌲 Review: The Gulch Tavern – Upper Black Eddy, PA Tucked between the Delaware River and whispering woods, The Gulch Tavern feels like a hidden retreat—where nature, music, and good food quietly conspire to create something special. I only had the boom boom shrimp, but that was enough to convince me I’ll be back. Crispy, golden, and paired with a dipping sauce that hit all the right notes—tangy, creamy, and just the right amount of kick. Simple, satisfying, and clearly made with care. Their beer selection leans local, mostly canned or bottled, which I genuinely appreciate. There’s something grounding about sipping a brew made just down the road, and it’s clear this place is committed to supporting nearby makers. It’s been almost a year since they reopened, and while I expected a packed house on a Friday night, it was surprisingly mellow. That said, the vibe was perfect—clean, warm, and inviting, with chairs so comfortable I actually noticed (and that’s saying something). A two-man band played live music that blended beautifully with the natural soundtrack outside: peepers, crickets, and the hush of the river. It was one of those rare moments where everything just felt… right. The aesthetics are warm and lovely, and the outdoor setting is pure magic. Between the trees and the water, with music floating through the night air, it felt like a place that should’ve been packed to the gills—but I’m secretly glad it wasn’t. It made the experience feel even more intimate. The Gulch Tavern is a gem, and I’m already planning my next visit. There’s more on that menu I need to explore, and more evenings I want to spend in that quiet, musical glow.

Do not go here. They stole money from me by adding $10 to a already 10 tip making their tip 31% of the bill. The bill was 63.70 and we left $10 tip witch was generous for the service. Then my credit card notified my that a 31% tip was made at this place. I will be coming back for my money.

Really solid food, cooked with love and care. Yeah it's tavern food, but the quality is noticeable for sure! Classic wood paneling vibes, reminds me of how the Delaware Valley was when I was a kid. If you're driving past, stop! Even if only for a very affordable soft pretzel!!!

So thrilled that The Gulch Tavern offers an atmosphere as memorable as the food and drinks. This fresh spot combines an industrial-chic vibe with a touch of warmth, making it perfect for casual gatherings or special occasions. The service here is impeccable, with a team dedicated to ensuring every guest feels right at home.

The Gulch delivers a creative, delicious menu with a range of dishes that cater to diverse tastes. The bar at The Gulch doesn’t disappoint, offering an impressive lineup of craft beers, local brews, and inventive cocktails.

The team at The Gulch is beyond friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the experience they deliver. The industrial design, softened by warm lighting along the river adds an intimate charm, making it a great place for either a lively night out or a relaxed, intimate meal.

In all, The Gulch is a fantastic new addition to Upper Black Eddy! With its inventive food, quality drinks, and exceptional service, this spot is bound to become a beloved fixture for locals and...

Menu is great and the food was very good; service was very good as well; interior is very nice, seating somewhat limited as one area is completely designated for a pool table.

We happened to be there during a sports game, and the overall noise level was quite loud, hard to hold a conversation; not fault of theirs, I didn't realize it was geared towards being a sports bar. Personally I prefer a more quiet enviornment.

Only complaint I have is a drunk patron at the bar attempting to start a fight with another inebriated patron behind us - major turn off, and such childish behavior; I could tell it impacted other patrons around us as well. The staff attempted to shut it down but didn't really acknowledge the incident.

I would still probably go back for quick lunch as the menu is quite good but have no desire to experience...
