We had been there many times in the past, We love the bridgwater chocolate in the case.

Yesterday's experience left us surprised and disappointed how rude and unprofessional the server was. We just walked in the store after a long drive from Danbury mall to bridgwater, I thought I can treat the family with a nice lunch, bridgwater chocolate and ice cream. I approached the counter and a nice girl replied my greeting with smile, so far so good "Do you have any ice cream" I asked Before she answered, a man reaching the phone to answer a call, jumped into my conversation, screaming.. "WE DO NOT HAVE ICE CREAM..WE ONLY HAVE WHAT IN THE FREEZER OVER THERE".. pointing at a cooler in the back of the store. And started talking on the phone. The girl turned white, speechless, confused, embarrassed by the guy's response. I told the family let us go somewhere else, I am not shopping here again.

As I am walking out of the store, I approached a girl on the other end of counter, and I mentioned that man on the phone was rude and I will never be back again. A different man traced my step running out the store and approached me, he might be the owner or someone in charge, he apologized and promised he will take care of it.

It is too bad, to see good people do the hardest work to keep a pleasant environment and quality service and all been lost because one selfish and unprofessional act.

I am not sure why he acted that way, but it is no excuse.

My rating is not related to the food or quality of products. It is based on the quality of service I received. It should be (-10) if there was any minus reviews. I sure hope that someone from management reads these reviews, because there is definitely a trend of bad...

I have officially stopped coming here after yesterday's interaction. Last times were just as bad and this just did me in. For one, there is no management. The staff seems to not know what their tasks are here. Everyone's confused, bumping into one another, can't answer customers questions on items ect; the pastries and baked goods in the case were so sad looking for Saturday brunch time with not to mention flies inside the case. 3 iced coffees and a small container of turkey chili all for 20$. I had to be rung up wrong!! I asked for some toppings for my chili and they were all out. How is that your soup of the Day and offer nothing to top off my incredibly bland over priced cup of chili!? I'm a chef so a lot was really bothering me. My iced coffee was a super long wait, simply because the staff were just all over the place. Oh yeah and no cream available for my incredibly over priced coffee!! The to-go cups are a joke. I feel like for the money I spent you can at least make your patron feel like they aren't drinking out of a fast food cup. Another thing, there is no menu on the wall for to-go customers. I heard people asking staff what do they offer and what cost? Their answer was "you can look at our dine in menu" how insufficient is that for a customer. It seems like you are just wondering as a patron what you can order. This is just another establishment owned by a millionaire with zero idea how to run a successful resturant. it's sad because they're really screwing up an excellent business opportunity for the local community. And believe me, this is a small community and this isn't the first time I've heard many complaints about this...

Although this is the only place around, I suggest you go out of your way to find somewhere else. The service staff is either terribly trained or they just don't care. The following atrocities were experienced or witnessed:

the counter clerk leaned over the counter and stared at the pinpad while I entered my tip amount. the busser picked up both my phone and wallet without asking. the clerk did not know the very limited beer menu off hand and took several (5+) minutes to produce a mutilated, written on copy (despite a large chalk board sign advertising their beer/wine menu) the local beer as advertised on tap was in house, but no one in the restaurant knew how to tap a keg upon ordering an alternate beer, and being charged for that one, I was handed the wrong beer. The clerk and other helping staff could not calculate the difference in price. ($7 - $4.50) the glass I was handed to pour my bottled beer into was wet and contained at least 2 fl oz of water. meals were served before the appetizers upon being told that the decanter in the coffee area was out of milk, the a staff member grabbed a half gallon and hastily placed it on the counter asking a customer to refill it. The staff did quickly realize his error and followed the customer to the coffee area while the customer carried the milk. handicap entrance/exit was blocked by a table and chairs.

It's not all bad - the food came out quickly and tasted decent (even though a tad over priced). The small general store area with local and hard to find items is very cute. However, with the service received I cannot recommend this...

Brilliant. Friendly. Delicious. Our waitperson, Sabrina, was so friendly and down to earth. Making us feel very comfortable and welcome. We'll be back. It's a bit of a ride, from My. But, oh so worth the journey. Family brings us in and doesn't disappoint. Warm olives were my favorite, and he enjoyed the fried Brussels sprouts. The short ribs with paperedelle, the NY strip........ deliciousness. Cooked to perfection. Could I just come in and drink another stout and have the truffle fries, please? Cozy. Happy. Friendly. I'm in love.

This place is really a hidden gem. The Monte Cristo I was told was the best he had ever had. The chicken and waffles are by most the best I have ever had, and nothing like homemade maple syrup to go on top. The grilled cheese, I was told, was out of this world with 5 different cheeses, tomato, and bacon. Don't forget to grab some yummy treats on your way out. I know I did 😉
