My husband and I watched with excitement as the new owners took over this bar/restaurant as the old place definitely left a lot to be desired. We were one of the first customers when they finally opened and were thrilled with it. Beer was cheap, food was good, they even gave every table complimentary chips and salsa. The menu was a little small so we were happy to see that eventually they added more items; however, with the new items also came higher prices. We didn't mind paying more for a quality menu but $3.99 for a side order of fries? That was crazy to us. We stopped going for a while but because it is so close to our home and really one of the few restaurants in the area, we decided to try it again last night. My husband ordered a cheeseburger, our 7 year old son ordered a quesadilla and I ordered chicken strips and fries. Our bill came to $60.00. In shock, I looked over the bill to see that the draft bud light beers that we ordered (two each) were $4.50 each. Wow! And the very small basket of cheese curds that my husband wanted to try were $8.00. The owner told us when they first opened that he really wanted to have a restaurant that was affordable for everyone and in the beginning, he absolutely did. But I'm not sure what happened between then and now. A case of becoming too big for their britches I assume and taking advantage of people by charging what they do. There is a chain of another restaurant that we go to (wish one of the three locations were closer to us) that not only has amazing prices but also has amazing food and these restaurants are ALWAYS busy. Don't know what this guy knows but wish he would share it with other restaurants in the area. Shame on you Roadhouse 19 for taking advantage of people by charging...
Read moreWe wanted to try a new restaurant and decided on Roadhouse 19. POSITIVES it is a nice rustic atmosphere, chicken wings, chicken wrap, and homemade fries were good😊. NEGATIVES The services was terrible🫤, the server seemed very disinterested in serving us. It wasnt busy; 2 at the bar and 2 other tables with 2 people each, 1 other server. She did bring our drinks in 10 min, my drink was of water only, the refill was good though. The appetizer of deep fried mushrooms came to the table, no napkins no plates (3 of us sharing), but ok we will ignore the greasy hot fingers, the musroom texture was of rubber🙄😣, I'm not exaggerating, cant ignor that. My pizza looked like and smelled like a DiGiorno pizza it was served on a circular cardboard sitting on a pizza platter🫤. Still no plate, silverware, or napkins😐, at this re towel would suffice. The pizza tasted like Store bought. When I asked for a plate and napkin, she acted surprised and said, "Oh yeah, you need them." That seemed to wake her up, a little😮💨. Came back to the table and asked if we needed a box, 1 piece of pizza was gone, so pretty much a whole pizza, and my brother had fries and half a sandwich. He said he needed one and she started to walk away, so I piped up and said I needed a box for the pizza. She was surprised 😮 and and said "oh yeah I'll get you one". It was busy, but the other server was doing well. Time for the bill, too 10 minutes to get it, she said she would be back, we waited 15 minutes and my husband gave up and took it up the bill up, her response was "I'm having a melt down". WE noticed. We are known to be good tippers, said to say we were not for her. We won't be back...
Read moreFirst off, the service was prompt, and why not, it was only 4pm on a Wednesday. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, which is good, because it sure wouldn't have been worth waiting for. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Breast. It came with a dinner salad and mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken breasts were obviously a frozen variety and they were on the tough side. The Teriyaki sauce was a bottled sauce, definitely not house made...it was nothing special. The mashed potatoes and gravy were ok, but not homemade by any means. To be honest, the best thing about the meal was the dinner salad, which had fresh ingredients, though one of the 3 cherry tomatoes was a bit shriveled. And this they called a $15 meal. For another 5 bucks, I should have just got a bucket from KFC and fed the two of us.
The Mrs had a large salad that was 90% lettuce...also a $15 meal. I don't know about you folks, but if I order a $15 salad I expect to see a lot more in it than a bowl full of lettuce and a few tomato wedges. She was disappointed to say the least and needless to say we won't be going back to this place...not even if they wash the front door, which was filthy. Maybe no one told them we're in the midst of a pandemic.
So I gave them two stars, which may be a stretch, but the service was ok and the dinner salad I had with my meal was alright. Is that worth a point apiece? I think I'm becoming a softy in my...
