They have an assortment of the tastiest pie around. Having only dined here a handful of times yet enjoyed each visit, my opinion of this estsblishment is high. The menu is just a bit more diverse than your average diner or cafe. The food whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner is quite delicious and very affordable. The ambiance is light hearted with various comical type signs everywhere and prove to make for table conversation or at least a good giggle. I recommend the pulled pork bbq. Its about the closest to eastern Carolina or Virginia style bbq I have found yet although they do use a western sauce which one can decline. The twister curly fries were flavorful and perfectly crisp. Almost every sandwich on the menu has the open face option which I think is a great idea seeing as its not so difficult a variation from the norm to prepare and yet open faced or "hot" as the menu says is s nice switch up from the standard variety of sandwich. I admit when I first saw the option of "hot hamburger" I had to laugh thinking to myself, does anyone like a cold hamburger? All in all this in my opinion is the best spot for good old fashioned eats in the entire city of Brush and have yet to meet its equal in all of Morgan County. Just thinking about it gives me the desire to awaken early for work to catch some French toast with that thick cut bacon which if I am not mistaken is the applewood smoked type. Getting an extra side of bacon. I will bacon up that bacon and French toast 8 ways till Sunday. Try them now and...
Read moreI had read previous reviews and they were all great!! Then I get there and no....it was 4:30 and they didnât have any baked potatoes ready and didnât know when theyâd be ready. Okay thatâs fine. No straws. Okay thatâs fine. Get my meal and blah. Ribeye was nothing but gristle. The mashed potatoes I ended up getting tasted completely like water. Gravy tasted like water but was thick like a paste? Green beans were cold. The veggie soup had plenty of veggies, as in they used a ton of corn as a filler and had a green bean, piece of potato, and two carrots in it. Broth was hot water. Never got the rolls it said I would get on the menu. When I asked about it the question was avoided. Did I complain about the meal? No. Why? Because my waitress was busy doing my table, along with 4 other tables. Then she was sitting at the counter trying to eat her own food, then jumping back up to wash her hands and running her orders to the tables. Other waitresses were standing at the counter gossiping about family issues, car issues. A few of them were talking to other customers and I didnât think I would ever hear the word âshitâ so many times coming from a waitressâs mouth. I wanted dessert but the waitress dropped the ticket off and went about her way. I ordered a piece of cherry cheesecake to go when I paid at the counter. Shouldnât have. Bit into it and it was nothing but cream cheese. I must have come on a bad night I guess. I come to visit a friend up the road every few months but I donât think...
Read moreWe came here for breakfast on the last leg of a long drive from Minnesota to Denver, eager for a hot, home-cooked meal and a break from the road. We had found this restaurant on Google Maps, and it just seemed like the place we needed to visit.
The diner is located inside of an agro-industrial building, through a few winding halls and a set of double doors. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the walls covered in comical signage and anecdotes.
I ordered the huevos rancheros, while my partner ordered biscuits and gravy. Our waitress was a bit curt, but was attentive and efficient. The food came quickly, and we enjoyed it heartily. The hash browns were cooked to perfection, crispy where they should be and golden yellow in between. The gravy was not high in flavor, but the consistency was right and I enjoyed the meal.
We ordered pie for dessert, and here there was a bit of a disagreement between my partner and I. We ordered banana cream pie, which was banana pudding with fresh bananas on pie crust. We enjoyed it immensely, but we did had have a discussion on context, and she was a bit disappointed initially with the expectation of a different variety of banana cream pie.
Ultimately, we enjoyed our visit to this unique local diner, and appreciated...
