We were so excited to try this place now it's in a new permanent location, and would be open to giving it a go again with some improvements to the food. I liked the order online option, but not all of the options were available (e.g. sausage was still in stock but couldn't add to the 2 meat meal) so perhaps some adjustments as this place gets on its feet. It was easy to find, just double check Maps doesn't send you to their old location - it's on the road heading toward Madisonville.

Sadly, I found the macaroni cheese very underwhelming. It was like homemade kraft, and I'd have liked a lot more flavour: don't be afraid of seasoning! The chopped beef was good and moist - and flavourful, and had a really good portion size, you won't go home hungry which we really appreciate, but the sliced brisket was very dry despite the layer of fat. The sauce is good, smokey, but a little thin. There wasn't an option for extra bread online, sadly, but if we try it again we'll ask when we pick it up. Boxes don't insulate well, so just keep in mind by the time it gets home it may be quite cold. They also didn't have watermelon crush, which was disappointing.

I do like that this is clearly a family owned business doing well, and with some more flavour and a few recipe adjustments, we'd love to...

I was raised with IMO, on the best BBQue, ever. In the 60s and 70s we traveled between Austin and Houston stopping in Hempstead. My dad was raised there and there USED to be 2 places that had great BBQue! I have traveled most of the United States since, trying BBQue, to always be let down. I've tried mom and pops, name brands. WELL, today I tried this place AND was extremely impressed! WELL DONE!!! It is the closest I have been able to find close to those places of old. Very very very excited to be able to enjoy BBQue again without having to cook it myself! Had the brisket and jalapeno sausage bc that's all they had left. I'm NOT complaining, especially after tasting this bbq. The very polite and apologetic young lady who called after I placed my order said they had a run today. Well, yeah. I had waited till 2 ish on Sunday to place my order! I wanted to take the time to let you know and say THANK YOU for having a great business I can enjoy BBQue again! Again...

I went to what's the deal bar b que for the first time on today and the service and staff was great but I ordered a 3 meat plate to go brisket, sausage, and ribs and I was not pleased with the quantity of food they only gave me 1 rib which I paid 22 dollars for a 3 meat plate and the sauce was like a sweet thin sauce that's really not bar b que sauce and a small quantity of baked beans normally when I go to c and j bar b que and purchased a 3 meat plate they always give 2 ribs with a ribs, brisket, and sausage plate and I can never eat the whole intire plate all at once but I was able to eat the whole intire plate at once from what's the deal bar b que because of the low quantity of food and with that said I really think you guys should really work on giving more quantity of food too the customer's because without the customer's you don't...

I typically don't leave reviews, but this was hands down, the best BBQ we have EVER eaten! My husband & I are carnivores 90% of the time, and their brisket & and chicken were truly set apart. Moist, very tasty, the chicken fell off the bone, YUMMY! We typically don't get chicken at BBQ places, but this chicken looked amazing, and it did not disappoint! Our daughter, who is still young and healthy enough to enjoy carbs, got the Baked Potatoe with chicken & chopped beef, along with pickled, grilled jalapeños (I tasted one. YUMMY!), with melted butter, sour cream, and a scoop of their special mac & cheese on top! She went back and took several of their sides home to eat next week. We both drove about a hour to meet halfway for lunch (we came from Magnolia, she from Killeen). We definitely will come back here with the rest of the family!

There are no words to describe the way I felt when I first bit into their brisket yesterday! The ribs and turkey were just as delicious. Visiting from Colorado and needed some more bbq before I go back home...I am thankful I found this place! This is THE BEST BBQ I've had in years! I tried a few places in Houston but it was trash compared to this place. Whoever the BBQ Master is.... THANK YOU! You know what BBQ truly is 🥰 Can't wait until you open back up at 12 to get some for my road trip back home. My husband is going to LOVE IT! Glad I got a cooler lol. Will also try the chicken.. If you ever want a change, Denver/Aurora, Colorado could use a delicious, homemade BBQ joint 😊 our selections suck.

It’s an ok BBQ place. I have high expectations for BBQ in Texas. Don’t understand the high rating. Can’t even compare to Coopera which has a lower rating. Coopers bbq was too salty for me but texture was great. Maybe it’s just a bad day??? Portion was so random and small for the price. Brisket: lean part was dry felt like steamed. Seasoning was off; bbq sauce needs to be more tangy Pork rib: more like steamed Sausage: best of all three, but then again, sausage is hard to mess up Potato salad: best of all Cabbage soup?: tasted bitter. I rarely waste food but I couldn’t eat it. Mashed potato: doesn’t exist
