Our first visit. The food was great, the lady and young man who brought our food to the table were really nice, but the young person behind the counter (2-22-19)was very rude. I think she got frustrated because my husband was having difficulty deciding what to order. He saw that he could get a half rack dinner so he ordered that. The young lady asked him what 3 sides he wanted, and he asked what the sides were. Instead of telling him what the sides were, she walked over to the board, pointed her finger and said "this is what you have ordered". I said "he just wanted to know what the sides were." I guess this was offensive to her, because she immediately said, "You don't have to yell at me", I replied, "I am deaf in one ear, I do talk loud, but I never yelled at you". She said, "whatever", and made a face . I said "you are just rude". I am not going to lie, when she asked me what I wanted, I told my husband "tell her what I want, because I don't want her to think I'm yelling". She made another face. I again said you are rude. She said I" can go get my boss but he's not going to care", and I said "Well then maybe he will care when I write a review". Once again she made a face. My husband said let it go, and paid for our food. I have spoken loud my entire life, due to my disability. My "yelling", as she said, wasn't loud enough that anyone had to come out from the kitchen to see what was going on, nor did anyone sitting at the tables, come to check out the "yelling". I do my best to not talk so loud, but it's very difficult. I'm 63 years old, and I have eaten in many a restaurant, and I've never been accused of yelling. I've never written a bad or good review in my life. I go to a restaurant and if the food or service is really bad, I simply don't return. I've never complained to a manager about bad food or service. I started not to write a review, but I am still so upset at her attitude, and I did not have a choice as I did tell her I was going to write a review. She was very disrespectful, and not only did she embarrass me, she hurt my feelings. Yes, even and old woman can get her feelings...
Read moreFor starters, there was no aroma of BBQ from this place at all so the palate is not prepared for the meal once received. The staff was nice and kind so that was a huge bonus. The food, though, was awful. My family all ordered the special for the day: Jumbo chopped BBQ sandwiches with fries and a drink. The price was quite high for what we received at $45 after tax for what I feel was a normal sized and under-proportioned mediocre pork sandwich.
The sandwiches were small, the meat was flavorless with very little on the sandwich, and the slaw did not compliment the sandwich in any way. The meat was so bad I had to drown it in the single flavor of BBQ sauce they had to get it down, something I don't normally do as someone who appreciates good BBQ. The meat was shredded to the point it was nearly a paste. It wasn't just moist, it was soggy. To top it off our sandwiches were served in a burger wrapper so they were falling apart and had to be eaten with a fork because the buns were unusable as a transport mechanism. The meal was so bad my entire family could not finish it and my son, who can normally stomach just about anything, could barely eat any at all because it turned his stomach.
For the first time in my life I felt obligated to ask for a partial refund for my son's meal. While the manager obliged, there was no hospitality at all considering this is a sit-in dining establishment. No "Sorry the food wasn't up to your liking." or "We appreciate your feedback and will see what we can do do correct it." All I got was a blank stare and had to push the conversation to try and communicate the problem. Needless to say, avoid this place and go elsewhere. I have no idea how this place has the ratings it has. Perhaps we just had an...
Read moreI've been to this restaurant many times. When I arrived there this evening I was greeted by what appeared to be a not very happy employee. She was very short with us and began telling us what we couldn't have because it was about 45 minutes until closing and the grill was closed. Ok, no problem. I asked what we could order and were told what was already used up for the evening. By this time I had heard so much I didn't know what I could have so I ordered chicken strips which I really didn't want. 25 minutes later I was handed a plate. It had french fries so done they were hard and hollow and a bunch of little tidbits and chicken crusts with the biggest piece being like 1 1/2 inches long. It was hard and overdone also. It was like eating a plate full of cardboard. I'm very disappointed. This stuff cost me almost $14 and McDonald's would have been better. I don't know if I'll come back...
