Mizu Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi — Restaurant in Buckhannon

First off, I tried to leave a review on their facebook page and it womt allow anyone to do a review that doesn't reccomend them. It automatically takes you to reccomend. Then after I posted a review and noticed it said it recommended i deleted it to attempt to redo the information and it wouldnt allow me to post at all. Ordered hand rolls to go tonight and it was the worst I have ever had. The special roll was not mentioned as deep fried on the menu and the whole roll was deep fried. It was 13 dollars and was only 6 peices. The hand rolls were supposed to be spicy tuna and spicy crab and they had so much extra tempura crisp in them they barely tasted like anything more less spicy or like fish. The best roll we had was the sweet potato roll and it was so oily that I assume they are precooked then recooked momentarily in the fryer to be warm when served. the dressing for the lettuce was extremely watery. Stopped in here for lunch during a recent trip to Buckhannon. The food was great, service was friendly and prompt, and the place was scrupulously clean. A big plus for me was the restroom - very clean and well-kept even at the tail-end of the lunch hour.

The menu features sushi, sashimi, Bento boxes, Poke bowls, hibachi offerings and a wide variety of appetizers. The kitchen is open concept so you can see the orders as they are being made. The delicious smells made it hard to choose but I ended up with sushi. Can't wait to go back and try hibachi!

We enjoy having this restaurant in our community. I usually get a sushi roll combo with small salad. This time, I had a California roll, salmon and avocado roll, and a tuna one. They make them fresh just before serving. With yum yum sauce, they were super yummy! I wish they offered the 2 roll lunch combo on Sundays, as that is plenty for me. I just take the 3rd roll home. It is still tasty the next day.

My husband had Hibachi Chicken. He really liked it, and I tasted it too! He had a side salad and Miso soup.
