REVIEW UPDATE:

Very happy and impressed! Within 24 hours of my posted review about the consistently poor experience in the their bar, Kristen, the General Manger replied asking me to connect directly.

We spoke and her concern about our experience was crystal clear. She has been with Pineville for 3 months and really seems to know the industry and how to improve the customer experience at Pineville Tavern. She spoke passionately about the importance of creating client relationships and knows how key the bartender and waitstaff are in making that happen.

I think that she will have a very positive impact on the environment in the bar (and restaurant). Given the historical significance that The Pineville Tavern has to the community in Bucks County, I am happy that they have Kristen in place to lead their way to improving the standard of service and growing their business. Her responsiveness and genuine concern about our experience and plan to make improvements is really refreshing and much appreciated. We look forward to returning to The Pineville Tavern!

So sad that I have suggest avoiding the Pineville Tavern Bar. And I apologize for the lengthy detail in this review.

We are empty nesters who like to eat and connect with folks at restaurant bars vs dining rooms and are out probably 3-4 nights a week. The Pineville Tavern is the closest spot to our home. We LOVE the environment. We really really like the menu. We love the cool other diners we have met there. But boy oh boy does Dana, the lead bartender destroy the vibe.

We have not been for several months and thought we would go tonight after a long day of flying. "Let's go and give it a shot again". We walk in and had no service at the bar for well over 5 minutes because no one was working the bar. Even the other patrons joked that maybe she went home. Once she DID show, she came out without a greeting or a smile and flatly asked, "what do you want to drink." We are somewhat memorable and have been there enough times. We have tried to engage her in a friendly way, tryingnto joke and get a smile or a friendly interaction. She has never asked our names, but she knows what we drink so she knows us. But no smile, no friendly ANYTHING. I had to ask her to wipe the sticky counter and her reply was "Yep. People just left." She wiped around my phone, around our keys, the edge near our seats went unwiped. I mean I can go on and on. Tonight despite bring hungry, tired my bf and I looked at each other and got the bill after 1st order of our drinks. It was just unacceptably bad.

She is usually busy chatting up co-workers vs greeting and building rapport with customers. It is just jaw dropping at how much she does not belong in a service industry. She is consistently aloof, dour and generally projects how much she dislikes the customers and being there herself. She is consistently a disgruntled un-friendly bartender.

I have tried to address this with the GM. I have a 30 year background running department stores and luxury retail and it is always about "how can they do better." We have tried, tried and tried to go and enjoy our time there over many instances. We either leave without ordering or regret going when walking to the car.

On one visit iI discreetly asked a waitress to speak to the GM. He was not in and I asked for a call the next day. My plan was not to blast Dana. My plan was to explain the lmportance of feeling welcomed and appreciated as a "Regular" becuase THAT is what we very much wanted to be. I never got that call from management or ownership. As far as I am concerned, the vibe created in the bar is in the way of their success. The server or bartender can make or break a place. In this case it is all going in the wrong direction....

I was contacted by the new manager about a week or two after writing this initial review. They acknowledged all of the issues and apologized and told me how they were trying to clean things up. They refunded my bill and sent us a $100 gift card.

In life mistakes happen. Over time we forget the details what actually happened, but we always remember how people reacted and responded to the mistake. This new manager did the right thing to make amends and I look forward to coming back again in the future to try the restaurant out again

This pains me to write this review, but I feel compelled because the ownership needs to see it so they can fire their managers.

We had a 1pm lunch reservation on 2/4/24 for 6 people. I would say the restaurant was at 10-20% capacity at best, it was pretty empty. We all arrived around 1245 and were promptly seated and given waters. By around 1:10 ish the waitress finally came over to take our orders. By around 130 I spoke with the waitress letting her know we had been sitting for almost an hour and still had not gotten our drinks. Beers were not delivered until 1:40. So it took us a full hour from being seated to even receive our drinks...but it gets better.

Around 2:15 they came out with our appetizer and half of the tables lunch. They never came out with the rest. At 230-235 ish I spoke to the waitress again to tell her 3 people still hadn't gotten their meals yet. Another 10 minutes goes by and the waitress comes back out to ask us what we ordered because the kitchen doesn't know.

Keep in mind, my mother ordered buttered pasta with a meat ball on the side. It took them 2 hours and they couldn't produce that. My father ordered the french dip sandwhich, which is just roast beef and au jus which is already pre made and they couldnt produce that in 2 hours either.

Finally around 3pm I find the waitress and tell her we are leaving. She then spends 15 minutes in the kitchen speaking with the manager to get approval to remove the food from our bill that was never served. When she comes out, the bill still has the food on it so then she needs to go back again to get it taken off.

At no point did the manager ever come out to show face or speak to us. No discounts or concessions were offered, we paid full price for a horrendous dining experience.

I don't blame this waitress at all, she was doing the best she could with no help from the kitchen or managers. The management here should all be fired. I wish I could say this was an isolated experience, but we had a similar experience 2 times ago. There will not...

A Culinary and Historical Delight at Pineville Tavern Our recent visit to Pineville Tavern was nothing short of a gastronomic and historical journey, making it the perfect finale to a delightful evening spent at the Doylestown County Theatre. Having lived in Doylestown for six years, it was my first time experiencing the charm of Pineville, and what a fantastic discovery it turned out to be!

As we stepped into Pineville Tavern, the rich tapestry of history woven into its walls immediately caught my attention. The ambiance exuded a timeless charm, with every corner seemingly whispering stories from eras long past. It's a place where the past and present coexist seamlessly, creating an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and steeped in tradition.

Our experience was elevated by the exceptional service provided by Steve R, a true gem among servers. His warmth, genuine personality, and attention to detail added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. Steve's recommendations were spot-on, reflecting his deep understanding of the menu and a passion for ensuring guests have a memorable time.

For starters, the Snapper soup was a revelation to the taste buds. Its rich, savory flavor left an indelible mark, making it a dish I am sure to order whenever I see it on a menu. The crab cakes that followed were nothing short of perfection – a delightful blend of succulent crab meat and impeccable seasoning that set a new standard for this classic dish.

The culinary journey reached its crescendo with a heavenly Tiramisu for dessert, perfectly complemented by a Moscow Mule with a peppermint stick. The attention to detail in every dish and drink was commendable, showcasing Pineville Tavern's commitment to culinary excellence.

I was pleased to hear about the recent addition that allows patrons to enjoy their meals outdoors, complete with heaters for comfort. This thoughtful touch ensures that the Pineville experience can be savored in every season, and I am eagerly anticipating a return visit in the spring to bask in the charm of outdoor dining.

In conclusion, Pineville Tavern is a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of culinary excellence and historical immersion. The combination of a charming atmosphere, delectable dishes, and the outstanding service provided by Steve R make it a standout destination in Doylestown. Whether you're a longtime resident or a newcomer like myself, Pineville Tavern is sure to leave a lasting impression on your taste buds...
