Fun little BBQ joint in Buckley. Nice, modern, dining room/bar. They had trivia and sports running on the tv’s. I had the brisket, hush puppies, corn ribs, mac ‘n’ cheese, and armadillo eggs. The brisket had a nice fat cap on it, (my favorite part); the hush puppies I super appreciated being that they aren’t a common menu item up here in the PNW and I think the South would approve of this recipe; the corn ribs are a fun take on the typical corn side dish with BBQ and I would order them again. My boys each had the ice cream sandwiches for dessert and they raved about them the whole car ride home. Is it Texas caliber BBQ like Salt Lick? Not quite. Is it better than the other local BBQ joints around here? I’d say it’s certainly in the running. Definitely give this place a try.

We need this place. Bbq places seem to be in sorry supply across Washington. Food is good i had the brisket sandwich. It was cold which is the reason of the 4 stars but it tasted great I just can't stand cold food it needs to be piping hot for me to fully enjoy. I can't blame them too much since this is their first weekend open. Draft beers however are ice cold. Staff are excellent and attentive and facility is clean and relatively new it's the same as lost woods with new decor.

We stopped by the soft opening today. They are open for limited hours this weekend and then full-time next week if everything goes well. Great service and food was amazing!! We got the meat board. Why has nobody else done that before?!? We'll be back for sure!

We went in a couple nights ago. Wasn’t sure if we sat our self or had to wait to get seated. Nobody’s paying attention only 3 people in there besides us and person working. We lingered by the door for a few minutes then finally just sat ourselves. Finally a lady comes over and gave us our menu. But out of beef except burgers. So we ordered 2 smash burgers. One with waffle fries one with coleslaw. And an order of hush puppies as an appetizer. We wait and wait. Finally get burgers. One with shoe string fries and one with hush puppies. Had to remind her of the order. So she got us our coleslaw. Basically the driest coleslaw I have ever had. I am pretty sure it was just the coleslaw cut lettuce with zero sauce. And if I remember correctly appetizers come while you wait on dinner not at the same time. But whatever. Burgers were good. Description just said smash burger. But not what’s really In between the buns. It’s a double patty burger. Also ordered jack and coke. Well Pepsi cause they don’t have coke. I think they forgot the jack or it’s so watered down in the tall glass a beer would have been more worth it. Anyway that’s our experience on a Friday night at about 7pm. Not late and they...

The place was basically empty late afternoon on a Sunday. They were out of several menu items.

I was torn between a 3 or 4 for overall food. I'd really put it at a 3.5.

It's not that there was anything wrong with the food. It was more that the brisket was quite tender, but didn't have much flavor on the bark. The burnt ends weren't really burnt. That is, not a dark a you would expect which left it softer than it should be.

They did have a good variety of sauces and none were bad. All passable.

My wife enjoyed the brisket bacon chili and my daughter thought her sandwich was decent.

It is better BBQ than Jack's and any of the bad chains such as Dickies. Didn't stand out against Branks down in the valley.

Given that we do not live that far we will likely give it another go and try different items. Maybe if they have everything available I'll find a reason to up the score on a follow up note.

The staff was nice and the...

Hopefully they will get better over time. Burnt ends were NOT even charred, just globs of semi warm fatty pork chunks. Our server told us that's how the customers like it. Ordered a hamburger, bun was COLD - should have been toasted (even server said so.) Smoked turkey sandwich -they forgot the cream cheese, barely any cranberry sauce, turkey was tasty but DRY, bun was barely toasted around edges and cold and soft in the middle. Good for a quick beer or drink - but NOT a genuine BBQ joint. Need better cooks that know how to BBQ or at least serve something other than luke warm food. Sweet baby rays is their main sauce - I saw them refill at the bar from a jug. Little here is homemade or authentic BBQ, more like fast food BBQ - just food bought somewhere else and reheated. Sadly...
