Joe's Place — Restaurant in Bucoda

We didn't get to taste the food but the atmosphere there is super spooky around Halloween time for sure. It's a cute little ghost town tavern that has managed to stand the test of time even with modernization all around them, thanks to a dedicated family and group of locals that have kept Joe's Place a working tribute to what once was. As it said in their book all about Bucado, it was a small town with a million dollar pay-roll at one time. The place was built back in the late 1800's but the original building burnt in the 1920 fire so Joe rebuilt in the same spot and kept going until he passed away from a heart attack right behind the bar in the 1930's, I believe. A very nice pug/bar to dine at We haven't been here in Years_since the pandemic began. We finally just returned on 3/29. We go on Thursday evenings for the steak dinner. The waiters are pretty good there service is pretty good too. Despite that, allot of the utinsels, cups and some plates are all disposable. The one thing that really did annoy me was we were told we could take a spot that was left_a 2 seater next to a wall right by the walkway to where people keep walking back and forth from the bathroom or I guess people go back further thru a door to go smoke and your constantly having people walking right by you and smelling there foul smoking when trying to eat. we came in a party of 9, and the waitress handled it with grace. we had put all the kids on one booth next us. I was worried the kids would be disrespectful, but the waitress handled them like a mother/ grandmother. thankfully my kids came with some of their manners. we did the fry foods. fries, green beans pickle chips, cheese sticks, mushrooms jolepeno poppers, all fried well, not over greasy, or over fried, fries were homemade 😋 delicious

their, bloody Mary's were awesome with just a hint of horseradish, there burgers were awesome and the kids loved the chicken strip and fries, and my nephew said the fish and chips were delicious.
