The Port of Peri Peri — Restaurant in Buffalo Grove

After my last experience at this place, I am writing this review and had to delete the nice one I had written before. I feel like this place doesn’t care about what their customers feel like. We were so excited to come back to this place because the food is amazing, and somehow didn’t notice “Please use other door” on one of them and ended up accidentally opening and coming in through it, we get yelled at as if we are little kids by a woman behind the stand where you order the food. Now imagine how loud and embarrassing it was because the door is pretty far from that stand she was standing at. She then proceeds to command us to lock it after yelling at us. How is that your customers responsibility to lock it? If you really don’t want people coming in through that door and it’s that big of an issue, why not lock it yourself? A few days ago we were eating at this same location we saw the same door being opened and closed repeatedly by a family of brown people. I’m sorry I understand it’s our fault but that wasn’t nearly as terrible to be yelling at us like that. You either gotta be really racist or really mean.

Also a man wearing a cap is so loud cleaning and moving the chairs around it’s sort of uncomfortable to eat. Damn try and play some music on the background at least. But I understand you gotta do your job. Overall this place is great and the food is absolutely delicious but the way you get treated won’t ever make you want to come back. At least I won’t. And this isn’t the first time. I kept wondering why they don’t have many customers. I tried to overlook this kind of treatment, but I feel like now it needs to be brought up to...

I had a great experience here and definitely plan to come back! The flavor of the food is spot on—bold, fresh, and just what you’d hope for. I tried the "Peri Peri Cajun" flavor and it had the perfect medium heat—spicy enough to satisfy, but not overwhelming. Everything we ordered came out as expected and was clearly made with care.

The restaurant itself is super clean, which is always a great first impression. You can tell they take pride in maintaining both the kitchen and the dining area. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Our food came out quickly, and everyone was helpful with questions about the menu.

One standout item I have to mention: the cassava fries! Seriously, they are to die for. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and unlike anything you’d get from a typical fast food spot. Highly recommend trying them.

They also have a fun boba and smoothie bar, which is a great bonus if you’re looking for something sweet or refreshing. There's a fountain drink station too, where you can mix your own flavors, which my kids loved. Speaking of kids, they do have high chairs available, which made it easy for our whole family to eat comfortably.

Another plus: they’re open late! Perfect for a late-night craving or a casual dinner after a long day. All in all, a solid spot for tasty food, great service, and a clean, welcoming...

People who work here seems to have an attitude without any really reason... I was calling multiple times when the place showed open, and no one picked up. I decided to stop by to see if I can get my favorite CAVA fries... and chicken. When I came in and ask if the phone is working I was given the attitude saying they are busy. ( restaurant is closed for in dining, just 2 other ppl waiting for order). I mean... I got it maybe they are not full on stuff now, but on the other hand you have business in each customer so you want to step ahead for someone to place the order.

On a top of that, when I came in and made a payment after finally placed the order the guy just grab my card, with a greasy glove he had on, swipe it and give it back. I was thrilled to put it in my wallet... 🙄

Place have a good food but better customer service definitely would not hurt. In addition, it was not my first time here, and it was already few times sth like that happen that is why I decided to write.

Also, Cava fires is theirs “loved” but they never have them! It’s third time I wanted to get them and there was an issue with it. This time I wanted to order 2 portions and he said: I have only one, I can make it large. If there is demand for something you want to get...
