Ok, lets talk about the obvious here. We are in Buffalo, SD so don't expect a lot of options coming your way out here. However, here is one of the best! It is quaint small saloon that can easily be overlooked when driving throught the town. When you first go in there is a lot of space with tables all about and TV's up in various corners showing sports or in my case it was Rodeo Day. There is no greeter to show you to your table. This is a seat yourself kind of deal, but there is no where that I saw that said for you to seat yourself. After a bit there is usually the one waitress around that will come by and give you menu's and ask for drinks. She is ok, in the sense that she is polite and nice, but moves like she wants to be anywhere else but here. These few things is why I am giving the place a 3 stars and not a 4. The food when it comes out to you looks really good and tastes as such! It is a decent place to eat at. The bummer is when you are done with your food and are just sitting there for a while, you still have to go look for the waitress and tell her you would like to be done and get your check. The place could be a great place with the atmosphere not being too shabby at all. It's just the customer service quality brings this place down to average even though the food is better than average! If you can tolerate the lackadaisical effort given in this place and see past that you can have a good experience...
Read moreFor being a Saloon, serving food, it was pretty quiet inside. We have mixed opinions on the food we ordered. The chicken breast was tasty along with the potato. The salad bar was fresh but had very little selection for the price. The lettuce was the shredded kind you buy in a bag for tacos instead of tearing up a fresh head iceberg. I give it a 3 but a 2 1/2 is more deserving due to the fact the portions served were very small compared to the asking price. I'm not a large portion eater but for $2.50 for fried sweet potatos they should have been fresh not frozen. All in all,...
Read moreIf you enjoy being treated like a total waste of the server/bartenders time- (possibly the owner) then this is your place! She was the most RUDE person we’ve EVER had serve us ANYWHERE!! Even the other employees were afraid to approach her and were rolling their eyes at the grouch. She was appalled that we asked for a condiment to put on our bare sandwich and proceeded to slam our drinks and food on the bar. In a town this size, it seems like one would strive for providing superb customer service in order to survive. Total disappointment all the way...
