Wed, September 17, 2025. Great Western Burger! First time here, I'll be back! Cool nostalgic supper-club atmosphere. Big portions, well worth the money ~ the price including tax was about $14.70; just a few dollars more than a happy meal, but 10 times better. The waiter was well seasoned, effective and on point, but rather brusk: I asked for a second plate because the burger, fries, and toppings covered the entire plate, and I'd have to cut it up in portions to eat. (The silverware had not been wiped. Water stains from the dishwasher were visible.) "Can I have a 2nd plate, please?" 'You mean a larger plate'??? "No, I need a second plate, if that's alright. You mind if I take some pictures?" I really like the vibe, reminds me of restaurants I visited in the late 60's. 'Take as many as you want,' he said rather dismissively. Maybe this is just his way, and nothing was meant, but it just seemed rather curt and flat. As I was finishing up (and the only diner left), a couple of the wait staff gathered at the end of the bar, (about 5 feet to my right) complaining about: a customer from earlier that night, general work conditions, school ~ without any regard for my being just a few feet away. THIS is the best in town? __ Thursday, September 18. I came back tonight, asked for the prime rib. 'That's only on Saturday.' "I'll have the fried mushrooms, to go." 'To go?' Why must my every request be repeated (questioned?) "Yes, to go." It was brought to me, the check dropped. Both times, nothing else said. No 'thanks for coming.' No 'come back.' Just rote going through the motions. *The kicker ~ the mushrooms were brought to me in a Styrofoam box, and the hot deep-fried mushrooms burned through the Styrofoam! No extra charge for the toxic seasoning. How lovely.
Well, I checked 178...
Read moreSo, took my wife to 178 Club for an early Dinner on her 70th B'day. What a disaster. We've been going to the 178 Club for well over 12 years, spending B'day's, Anniversaries, etc, then came May 5, 2024. I made reservations the prior day and was anticipating another good meal, etc. Well, that went out the door pretty damn fast. The tables were full of dirty dishes, glasses, etc. We were told to select a clean table and was told that one of the tables had been wiped down. That realistically was the only table to choose from so we sat down and waited and waited for service. Finally the server brought us 2 waters - but never asked about appetizers or anything else for that matter. So we sat for a while longer, no service, so we packed up and walked out. Sorry to say, after all these years we will not be returning to 178 Club, nor will we be taking our out of town visitors there which as a routine occurrence. How can management expect customers to sit in a dining area completely full of dirty tables. Oh yeah, there was another employee in the dining area that just stood there and looked around the entire time. Again, eating in a dining area where every table except one has dirty dishes, etc, long after the people had left is "not" a favorable environment for having a nice meal and with the current level of pricing it's too much money to spend to eat in a garbage dump. This review is written with great hesitation since we have been going there for years. They way we look at it, if Management doesn't care then I'll spend my money elsewhere. Oh yeah, ended up having a great meal at Salsa Grill...

This place deserves every bit of praise it gets. We didn’t have a reservation for the main dining room, but the best part? You can order all the same amazing food from the restaurant while hanging out in the bowling alley and arcade side — no reservations needed! It’s the perfect setup for a fun, relaxed night without sacrificing that high-end dining quality.
We tried a little bit of everything — the Bang Bang Shrimp, mozzarella sticks, and spinach artichoke dip were all delicious starters. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, the prime rib was melt-in-your-mouth amazing, and the fried catfish was crispy and seasoned just right. The chicken parmesan (made with Alfredo for a small upcharge) was also phenomenal — rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced.
Our server did an incredible job, especially considering it was only her second day! She handled everything like a pro, and the rest of the staff couldn’t have been more kind or supportive — you could really see the teamwork.
And a huge thank-you to the staff for jumping into action when my brother accidentally smashed his fingers under a bowling ball — they got us ice right away and were so kind and attentive through it all.
Whether you’re going for a nice dinner or just want to bowl, grab drinks, and eat top-notch food, 178 Club is the perfect spot. Can’t...
