Bulldog Diner & Growlers Pub

Never try to buy a cup or bowl of clam chowder from here. It was the top of the very worst chowder I have ever been presented with. Obviously the chief, (owner?) or cook never looked up the recipe in his/her life. It did not have any milk product in it but consisted of water, potatoes, clams. It was like eating a watery batch of cut up cooked potatoes with very little clams in it to boot and way tooooo thick. (Also the thickest I have ever seen.) I asked the waitress if she would ask the cook to thin it down with some milk. She brought me out thinner chowder and when I asked her if it was thinned with milk (it was obvious that it wasn't) She said, "no, with water.". Great, more water instead of a milk product. This made the chowder lack taste. It was terribly bland and did not taste like claim chowder at all. My order came with a small salad on the plate which consisted of lettuce, a small amt of grated carrot, and can't remember what else. I remembered that there was no tomato or onion. (Waitress did not bring us any water and we had not ordered any other beverage.) Well, we have decided not to waste any more of our money there. This was in May 2018 The waitress was friendly though and tried to be helpful. Oh, yes, the coffee is the strongest coffee I have ever ordered. I could not even make it drinkable with the half/half. I always have a second cup or more at other restaurants, but this one was a waste of money for I couldn't even finish drinking the first cup. The hash browns were very good and fixed the way I like, but I will never go back for breakfast again, because the coffee is...

We were traveling back to Maryhill campground from a visit at hermiaton aquatic pool and we were wanting to stop into the Bob's Texas T-bone restraunt in Rufus- BUT there loss because they are not open on Mondays. So we searched for another Diner that'd be open; we found Bulldog Diner. And we are VERY HAPPY WE DID!!! My whole family enjoyed there individual meals. Service was pretty good too. When we drove up, we wondered IF they were even open; one car in parking lot was leaving and a motorbike parked neer the side. Not really anything to complain about unless it was the higher prices_ but what Diner isn't jacking the prices and/ or nickle_ diming the customers these days. We arrived back 1 month_2 days later. Once again, there was NOBODY eating there until long after we had arrived. And surprisingly the elderly man and his wife walked in and had the BIGGEST version of a supposid "service animal_dog) i have ever seen. It was like a full sized poodle_ the BIG ones but this one appeared to be mixed with something else_greyhound or something.but they just came walking IN Like it was completely natural to have a DOG accompany people to a restraunt. That didn't look like an OFFICIALservice animal vest either. Once again though our food was piping HOT and delicious. The only other thing that really began to annoy me was our waitress kept coming back to check on us every few minutes; I sincerely am happy they wanna make sure there only customers are comfortable and enjoying our meal( and we tipped her appropriately as well) by once or twice or so. But 4_5 times.....

My daughter and I were on a very long road trip. We decided that we needed to find a place to grab some dinner before it got too late. I'm not going to lie, it was a choice between this place and a other on the same area. Both seemed fairly equal and neither of us cared. So what was the deciding factor? This place not only boasted about having clean bathrooms...but there were pictures to prove it!🤣 You know when you are on a long road trip, it's hard to find clean bathrooms! ANYWAY.....after getting there and actually getting our food, it was SO GOOD! I got an awesome salad and my daughter got the Cowboy burger that she said was THE BEST (trust me, this kid knows her burgers). After we were done, we order some espresso coffees to go. My daughter got a mocha and I got an Americano. They were both great! And now for the servers. I wish I had gotten their names....one was in training. They were both very nice and attentive. They really cared that you were happy with your experience. I don't know if I'll be in the area ever again, but if I am, I hope to stop there again! Oh, and yes, the bathroom was...
