I ordered from here because it was on my way home from an appt. I ordered online for pickup. However, we had arrived early and my husband was in the area and asked if I could ask if we could just dine in instead of taking our food to go. I went in to ask and let them know I understood that our food was probably already boxed (which it was), but that we were just all so hungry and still 25 min from our house if we drove home, but wondered if we could just get 5 plates and silverware, basically. My order was ALREADY PAID FOR and there was literally ONE table a customer was sitting at. The place was empty! The lady looked at me like this was too much to ask, said she'd talk to her manager, and when the manager walked out, she was so unaccomodating. I understand it's not the norm to order takeout and change your mind and decide to dine in, but I don't see what the problem was. I was a paid customer, and I even tipped, I only changed my mind and asked if we could stay to eat our food inside vs waiting 25 min to drive home. She continued saying, "Yeah, we don't normally do it... " and on and on about the food being already boxed, to which I felt I had to explain (again) that we didn't need anything special but plates and silverware and one of the million tables that were unoccupied. And after she looked like I was asking her to hang the moon, seemingly all annoyed, I said, "Never mind. It's fine, I'll just take the food and go." I decided I didn't want to even eat in that environment anyways, with her making me feel like it was ridiculous to even ask such a thing. I'd have rather eaten in my car at that point. After I said I'll just take my food and go, she had the nerve to ask, "Are you sure?" Am I sure? Are you kidding me?! She made it clear she couldn't accommodate my request, it wasn't my decision, it was hers when it was made clear that they didn't care about customer service. My husband, who was already on his way to meet us there, thinking this wouldn't have been a problem, was furious when I told him what happened. More furious that I tipped. (But I tipped before all this.) I told him to meet us at the house, that I didn't wanna stay. Anyways, the food was okay, but I'm the type of person who won't go back for amazing food if the customer service sucked. And this place sucked as far as customer service. Don't come here. There are way too many Thai places with better food and by far, better customer service than this place. What a waste of space along 281 when another better food establishment could be run, one that knows what a restaurant is and what customer service is. A business is only as good as their service. And one customer with bad experience can...
Read moreI deleted my 5 star review and the cute picture of my grandson enjoying the Sushi Boat his Dad ordered 4 years ago. That post had over 39,000 views. I'd say that was good advertising for the restaurant. I'm just done with the poor quality of the to-go orders my family and I have placed over the last couple years. This establishment is close to our home and that had made it handy for nights we didn't feel like cooking and just felt like something different.
But tonight was the last straw. My order clearly stated in the instructions to replace the the green bell pepper with carrots. I also documented that I cannot eat the bell pepper as it bothers my stomach. When I got home my order was filled with red bell peppers. I called and was transferred to the manager. She stated that they would have had to charge me for the carrots I requested and they didn't know if I would approve that.... I asked why I wasn't called to check about that, as my phone number was clearly posted on my order. I got no reply to this, just more of the same nonsense about how they were not "green" bell peppers. It is rather scary that a person in charge of a restaurant would think that red bell peppers would be ok, if a person had clearly stated they could not tolerate the green bell peppers in the dish. My dinner was ruined and all this manager could do was argue the point that they were not "green." And wouldn't you think carrots would be less costly than bell peppers these days? I didn't want anything free, I wanted a "I'm sorry" which I was never going to hear.
This is not the only incident that has caused me to cut ties with this restaurant. My to-go orders have always had something wrong despite asking, upon pickup, if certain things were in place. I get home to find things missing or clearly written instructions ignored and not enough side sauces for the number of people ordering. Why do they have a place to document these things if they are not going to honor them? They are so ridiculous about giving you enough side sauce to go with your order. I've asked that the fish sauce in certain dishes be replaced with sweet chili sauce, as no one enjoys the fish sauce, and I've been told that I must pay for that. If I were eating in-house I could use as much sauce as I pleased. What sense does that make? I'm still paying for my meal and giving a "to-go" tip!
I don't know if the place has changed hands over the 4 years we have been going here, but something has definitely gone wrong. It is not the establishment we enjoyed in the past. They have lost 5 customers tonight. Tonight was simply,...
Read moreI ordered from this place on Uber Eats. I have tried more than once hoping the chef had a bad day the first time. Unfortunately, it is just bad. I donât think this is an authentic Thai place made by real Thai chef/cook. My kids immediately said on trying it : âIs this Chinese food?â The shrimp in the Tom Yum soup was very fishy (like bad seafood) and way overcooked as shrimp was like rubber, broth was heavy with MSG and gave a stomach ache. The papaya salad was sadness in a to go box. It was brown, had no hint of lime, no chilis, no green beans or tomato or other items that you normally find in papaya salad. It tasted like soy, salt and sugar poured over mostly carrots not papaya. The fried rice was, as stated, a very Chinese style fried rice. Their curries all fell flat, were definitely not real Thai tasting or at least, it was not good Thai. Pad Thai- over cooked, dry, eggs tasted old and gamey. So disappointing! It was a waste of money. No. Do not recommend.
I suggest Yum Thai or SukhoThai. I canât speak to the authenticity of Sukhothai as I have never ate in the restaurant but their food was top notch even by delivery. Yum Thai - I used to frequent often the last time we lived in SA and I can vouch for sure the owner is truly Thai as she would often come out to chat with my family. Save your money, make the extra 15-20 drive to one of those other places - wish I had and will...
