Scoops Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Burgaw

Have been here twice , first time when it opened not great, the co should have invested more time in training. So after 2 years figured we give it another try . It was Friday evening around 8pm. 2 girls working 1 on phone talking to someone about register the other girl was waiting on a family of 4, the girl on phone solved the problem then came over to wait on us, we told her to help the other girl with the family so they could all be waited on together, they were finished and went to pay for their order , while paying for their order the girl realized she didn’t put sprinkles in one of the kids ice cream . He was halfway through his ice cream by now and ask if he still wanted them he said no.The girl that was going to help us , then started cleaning counter and blender and metal cups used for making drinks. So we stood their and waited She did not turn around , she was drinking her drink and continued to wash dishes. She knew we were waiting as she asked us before we told her to help the other girl first. We’ve now been waiting close to 15 min! Left with out being waited on ! Waiting 15 min isn’t the problem, if it was busy , it’s the lack of customer service . Again training is key when leaving two young kids to run a business. Will not go back...

I love coming here, the ice cream is always delicious! It’s a very nice place to come with the family. I would have loved to come here again and again and again, BUT the servers we had tonight looked miserable. Not a single smile from either 3. They made us feel like we intruded by coming in. We even looked up what time they closed because that’s how unwelcome they made us feel (they close at 9 btw so we had wayyy more than enough time). And I know, I get it, people don’t want to work anymore, but please atleast PRETEND? A single smile makes such a huge difference. This place needs different staff! Well…unless they believe they aren’t getting paid enough, or they are being treated unfairly by management?? Who knows. But they definitely (almost) ruined our appetite with their miserable attitudes…

But…. THE ICE CREAM IS TOO GOOD TO JUST WALK AWAY. Although we really wanted to after that dreadful experience.

Starting off strong, this place was CLEAN!! It had a neutral smell not overly bitter or sweet. Perfect place to take your toddlers or older children. There is an old school machine for them to ride on. You insert a quarter and boom! It’s a ride! I haven’t seen one of them in sooo long that the shops feels like of nostalgic. Many different flavors all said to be imported straight from Michigan. The color scheme is what I would expect from an ice cream parlor!
