Experience sucked.
Anyways, here’s a larger review of all the food my group ordered, plus other things regarding the Wright’s Farm atmosphere:
FOOD EXPERIENCE:
Pasta shells with sauce! Severely undercooked and has almost no sauce. Far from Al Denté!
Bread! Cold, white, sticky, and tasteless. Probably made in a factory. If you like white bread without crust, you’d probably like this. It’s just somehow oily without tasting oily.
Fries! The fries were unusually sweet and had a strange aftertaste. Each fry was fairly large though, so I’ll give them a plus on that. (For SIZE comparison, think of KFC’s potato wedges before they replaced them with fries)
Salad! It was alright. Would’ve been nice to have some without oil, considering every other option..
MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE CHICKEN!! It was alright, considering some people just come to eat it. Lightly seasoned, salty. They probably just used salt and butter.
SPECIFICALLY THE WATER:
The water was my savior, but somehow still tasted buttery. The air and the extremely warm lighting was to blame.
One of my group members tried ordering sparkling water. Don’t. This place gives you laughably watered down Sprite.
SERVICE EXPERIENCE:
Think of 1980s restaurant servers that laugh goofy every other sentence in movies. This is the place. The server seemed to act too forced and unnatural. Pretty uncanny.
After we ate, we could ONLY BRING the carbohydrates home. The bread, pasta, etc. They also only allow you to stuff the carbs into just TWO plastic containers that they provide (about 32 oz each, I’m just comparing my containers to the ones on Webstaurant).
DINING ROOM:
Wayyyyy too large and dimly lit! The parking lot is full, yet the inside appears almost empty! I swear, the place could fit a Walmart Superstore.
There was even a second and third massive dining room right next to ours, AND a wedding space. Must be an unlisted place for largest restaurants in the United States!
Adding on, there was almost too much empty space in this restaurant. If they were to renovate this place, they should definitely find a way to brighten the space without adding MILLIONS to their electric bill.
GIFT SHOP:
Lots of overpriced items that don’t relate to the store. Reminds me of some other “made in the 2000s” giftshops. Gave me a throbbing headache, but I’m sure there are some people that like stores like this.
PARKING:
Packed in the front, but completely barren in the back..? They should really add a sign saying there’s more parking in the back. It looked more like a service area when pulling up to a restaurant! There were even people waiting for FRONT parking spaces to be cleared!
(There’s also a little tiny open door leading to the gift shop in the back. Oh, that’s probably why..)
The wedding room is also in the back, but with two massive doors like the ones in the front. (Assuming it would probably be locked or have no waiting staff, I didn’t go through it so someone else has to say what’s there)
OVERALL:
They should really revamp the place! The feeling it gave off to me was “another restaurant with bad management that’s definitely just barely making the bills.”
It definitely feels more like an outdated office building that somehow has a COMICALLY LARGE interior that spans just one floor. It’s great to go experience what it might’ve been like as a kid to eat at a restaurant a few decades ago AND have unlimited chicken, but I don’t think I’m driving back to this...
Read moreI had heard about this RI staple for a while now, and from reading all the other reviews it seems like this is a nostalgic, I-Came-Here-Growing-Up kind of place. Upon entering, you can immediately tell that this place is massive, and still a hot commodity with tons of people waiting for tables. With that, be sure to make a reservation online as they allow for any parties 2+. It was a simple walk up to the check in desk, giving the name on the reservation, and seating 5 minutes later while others (I assume walk-ins) were waiting round the bar area. Upon seating, the friendly waitress explained how everything worked and promptly delivered salad (dressing on the side) and rolls.
The dressing is a bit too oily for my taste, and the salad is typical out of the bag mixed lettuce. Very few pieces that were brown/wilted, but overall fine. The rolls were pretty good although, as others state, I wish they came out warmer. Next came the shells + pasta sauce - again, average. The winner, even better than the chicken I dare say, were the fries. They were dark and came out piping hot, and were absolutely delicious. Throw some malt vinegar and salt on there, and I was absolutely ordering multiple plates. The roasted chicken was indeed fall off the bone and had some seasoning to it. Yes, several pieces of the breast will likely be super dry, but ehh it's mass cooked/unlimited so can't expect too much I guess. Second batch of chicken that came out was super hot and even better than the first round. So yes, while I understand the recent price increase likely leaves a poor taste for locals'/those who have frequented over the years, I think that unlimited everything for $17 is still a good deal. The only thing you have to pay for a la carte are soft drinks and dessert, the latter of which they have a vanilla and chocolate ice cream roll with a chicken design to it for only $1. Overall I would come back, just make sure you temper your expectations of high quality food for the sheer quantity and homey environment. They also take credit card, and have a steak for offer ($28) which includes the unlimited chicken and sides as well.
Parking was ample when we arrived, but I can definitely see it filling up. The gift shop was actually well stocked, and apparently the thing to get is...
Read moreHonestly super disappointed 😞 my family has been comming here forever!! As a kid we would go for every event as a big family! And recently we made it a tradition to go in September for all our birthdays since my mom , dad's, bfs, and my birthday are all in September. It was my favorite place to go! Well this past September we went and everything was fine except the first batch of rolls came out stale!! Never had that happen before and thought okay one time w.e I'll let it slide things happen right .. well we just took our friends tonight for the first time and I am so very disappointed 😞.. we had 2 batch of rolls that was BOTH stale!! They used to be my favorite thing!! I loved the rolls .. now they are just awful!! Clearly they are saving them to save money or something but it's bad.. lastly I went to get fudge before we left like I always do I LOVE fudge!! And never had an issue before... I got 2 maple flavor cause it my favorite 😍 litterly almost ate 1 whole bar today!! Well I go to open the second one .. HARD AS A ROCK!! I am sooo upset 😭 I was so excited for the fudge and so excited I got 2 maple because we eat it so quick and now it's not even edible! I don't know what's going on here a see a lot of people complaining the chicken is dry as well but if they don't fix it they are going to loose a lot of valuable life long customers that have been comming for years and years. It also sucks when we bring friends who never came before and we talk it up so much it's so great and we get served stuff liek this.. we also had a waitress who was not very good and kept forgetting things or forgetting about us all together but would stand in back of us and talk to co workers .. now I beileve she might of been new so I don't want to complain too much i just saying added with the other things was just very disappointing and I don't know if we will be back for out birthday tradition anymore 😕 I think we will try...
