Highway Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Bushnell

Had to change the review from always great to bad. First off the service was very slow the previous time. But this one is for today Sunday 1:15 pm. 3 of us went to our table and sat down. It was semi busy but not half full. We waited for 10minutes and no waitress with menus, drink orders or anything. There was at least 3 waitresses working and sweeping the floor, but didn't acknowledge us at all. So another 10 minutes went by and we discussed leaving. I hate to do that but when you are ignored as a customer we did leave. I know it's not a fast food restaurant but that's not the reason for the bad review. This was my favorite restaurant on the way to Macomb as I left reviews before how great it was. And I always tipped great for great food and service. But it's sad after the last two times that we might not go...

There were 3 other tables, it was near close. Mrs and I were talking and listening to some soft rat pack playing on my phone. We had finished the soup and our meal came. I had just taken one bite and here comes the waiter and asks curtly to turn down the music. My phone volume isn’t loud enough to transcend other people’s spaces, as a matter of fact we had been having trouble hearing the music over the table of ten across the room having a celebratory dinner. I turned the music off and asked if he’d hush the loud patrons. This is where he got snippy and rudely stated “they are just talking” We packed up our food and drove 12 miles home and ate it. My family and I (a total of 3 adults, 2 teens and a rambunctious 4 year old) stopped here at 8 o'clock in the evening. My granddaughter had a late volleyball game and we were headed home, about 50 miles from there. The restaurant closes at 9 pm. Even though it was late, we were welcomed by a very friendly waitress, who remained very efficient and on point all night, while interacting with everybody in the group so nicely. My grandson loved her! The owner also came out and was very personable, making sure we were fine, food was good, etc. The food was as awesome as the owner and waitress.
